oh.. didnt spot that? what's it going to do to the sound? Isn't the MT122 horn exponential for a reason? (or an approximation of exponential).

the first bit of the flare controls the dispersion for the higher frequencies i think

Distinctions are very minimal especially on hearing a dispersion subjectively has not changed and the design for me became much more technologically...

(looks kinda similar to some of the sellenium horn flares............. )

yes...

Isn't the MT122 horn exponential for a reason? (or an approximation of exponential).

Too small having opened  and the wall is not enough differences therefore is made a straight line

Let us know how they sound tda, could be a much easier alternative to the MT122 (I know many members have had nightmares with the horns).

hi,
they look awesome!!
Which selenium plans did you use for the flairs??
PAS1 MA1? PAS2 MA1? PAS3 MA3?
CHEERS!

-------------
without good foundation you have nothing!!

dont think he used selenium, he was just agreeing with me that they lok similar.
im guesing what he said above translates roughly into nglish as
he used the same mouth and troaght are on the mt122 but aproxiamted the flar as a straight line, obviuosly this may compromise dispersion specialy at upper frequencys but in the use he has for themthis will not matter too much therefore the compromise is aceptable to him.....

I think so. Panel resonances will be different, which probably happen to occur in the vocal fundamentals range.

It should be a good thing, the directivity of the horn might match the HF horn better.

Josh, one thing you should never do is build or buy a few of/or in bulk anything your not sure of!

I reckon the only way your gonna put your mind at ease, is to build one of each & see/listen for yourself.

TDA,

Absolutely stunning quality cabs!

Question that I've come up with, How do you get the perforated Grill in the front once the cab has been completed?
Trying to get my head around the idea the Grill extents are slightly larger than the cab front, and need to 'slot' into the rebate, left, top, right, bottom.

Cheers & great job!

What HF Horn Flare is on your MT121 TDA?

Posted By: MikeHunt79

Has anyone compared the 2 different versions then? I'd be interested to hear if it makes much difference as the TDA version looks like a more simple build.

So far I've just cut the baffle so I can go for either version...

EDIT: I'm only talking the mid section btw...

looks an easier build, and that horn flare sets the box right off apposed to the relativly square one on the original.. nice work

Looks very similar to the P- audio PH-4528 same crossover Fq and dispersion of the original PH-2723, so i wouldnt expect it would make much difference to the sound at all ... i could be wrong

TDA, what is the frequency range on the MT122? Do you have a plot for these?

Has anyone tried to build one with Eminence drivers?
