i need to replace the  8 and 15` drivers in my JBL sound power series mid tops how do i workout what are the best drivers do i need to know the Xover points of the internal passive crossover. do both replacment drives need the same sensityivity. the whole box is ment to be 750w so i was thinking of a 500w 15 and 150-200w 8` as i recon the 2'' tweeter is about 100w
thanks for your advice john

Firstly, you can't really work out power handling by adding up the rating of the individual drivers.  Because when you split the signal using the crossover it depends on the frequency range how much power goes there.  I would say as long as you are using decent professional drivers, the power handling is probably one of the last specs to look at.

The most important thing to look at is what frequency range they need to cover and how they are loaded (reflex, sealed cab, horn etc).

I'm guessing the 15" will be doing something like 100Hz-500Hz if you run subs underneath or all the way down if you don't.  As an example I would suggest something like the B&C 15PLB76.

For the 8" which is probably doing midrange from 500-2kHz maybe then a driver like the B&C 8PE21 might work well.

I don't know the cab you have so it's just an educated guess at the moment...
