What ya think? A system you can use for free parties/festivals:

4 x Looney's and 4 x Porn Horns per side should be ok for playback and bands. Power  everything with at least crest or camco.

Do you guys think they will work together nicely?

I think 4x Porn horns are too much top end for 4x Looney. 4x looney + 2x Porn horn would be a better match.

Best regards,

Walt

I've been thinking. The local seen with smaller festivals normally uses JBL VRX900 as the 'norm' for some reason. Its always 4 VRX932's and 6 VRX/SRX 18"'s a side. This happens almost every week all over the place. Tops are flown about 5m high.
Now, looking at the Porn & Loony combination, which  has to be better than that. The throw, SPL and SQ must be better? Is this an option for gigs like that?

Where are all you Loony an Porn Horn users out there?

I want to bring that sh*t to S-A

My friend has 4 1850 horns loaded with PD1850 and he's almost finished building 2 porn horns, as he has been advised that 2 will be plenty. I cant say myself though, In a month or so when he's taken the rig out i can let ya know

At the en of the day I probably want to know if I'm expecting to much of the Porn V2 cabs.

Where do they sit basically? I'm hoping somewhere between the Turbo 760's/EV XCn's [which I know is probably not even a comparison] and the EV MTH1's/AD 24T's/Community TFR's.

I'm probably being stupid, but if you look at all the plots and specs given for the Porns, they really look up for it. At the end of the day the system I'm in the process of getting will be used 'free'. I'm trying to look at all my options and would appreciate all the hands on experience input I can get. I don't want to go the mini line array way because I wont benefit out of it at all for the type of venues, and setup times that I know we will probably have. I've been in and out of this sh*t for the last 7 odd years and I want to take a new bastard approach and blow everyone away with a lot of high quality equipment an techs for next to f**k-all. Taking chances, I know! As long as the guys get a PROPER job an pay....
The easier the setup, the better. High quality Bang for the buck.
The system wish list is basically 4 x Porn's, 8 x Looneys, 2 x Infinite 8's or Camco Vortex 6's for bass, 1 x CA12 on mid and 1 x CA9 on top's. With adequate processing and EQ of course. The rest is my own problem.

Or am I wasting my time doing this bit of research on this type of unbranded cab?
