Here are some sporadic pics of my first ever speaker cabinet build.

I know punishers weren't the easiest to start with but it went well, I'm pleased with the outcome and have leant a lot along the way.

I had to be inventive with making the more extreme mitres as shown in the pictures.  How did other's make these cuts ?

Something I'd do differently next time is buy a electric sander.  Sanding by hand was a lot of effort.  Also, although I was very careful in making sure everything was square, when I came to putting on the final panel I realised that things were slightly out.  I think that this was down to working off a surface that wasn't level.

Despite this, the build is solid and there's no rattles or air leaks I'm aware of.

I used 8r drivers in them and powered them with a QSC 4050HD.  I bridged it to begin with putting 2k into each cab and was very impressed with the sound coming out of them.  I was however worried about burning out the drivers so ran two a side meaning they were getting about 700 watts each.  They weren't as loud but still sounded sweet and meant I didn't have to keep such a close eye on DJ's

The last picture shows the setup they're used in.  Although I'm not entirely pleased with the overall, sound I'm looking forward to experimenting with it.

Thanks for sharing the plans Walt. Smile

Looks very good for a first build, i do mitres ofer 45 degrees with a jig on a table saw, with a board set 90 degrees to the table as a fence, so i can feed peices though the saw vertically,   It should be possable with a hand held circular saw if you make up a jig to do it, as far as i can see, ive never done it with a handheld.

Not bad for a first build! My first box was rectangular, but despite the simplicity, it looked awful and still wasn't exactly.... square.
Thanks for the pics of the various stages of assembly, I do like to see how others go about assembling all of these awesome speaker cab designs, and some of the tricks they use.

this may be completely shot down, but wouldn't the horns couple better if two boxes were the other way round, as in all mouth entrances were central? this is how i have seen horns used and generally thort there was proably a sensible reason behinf it?

That would matter if they were the same cab matt, look closely and you'll see the pair on the right resemble the HD15.

Nice looking first build Zaodox, you sure picked a hard one to start with!!
