Ok, i'm gonna build a couple of HD15s for small shows. Looking for a driver that i can easily get in a 4 ohm version, ideally 600 to 800watt, that will take some serious beating. Thinking about the PD1550.

Personally I can't help feeling that if you're only planning on building a couple, you should build something that works better as a single....

Why not just stick a PD186 in a reflex box about the same size as an HD15??? 

Simpler to build, no messing around with time alignment, will play loads lower and give a flatter response...

Much as I love kick bins, even I have a pair of reflex subs for small gigs...
