<Hello everyone>

For the 1850 horn they suggest a driver with an EBP over 125 and a BL over 28. The beyma 18g50 has an EBP of 121.2 and a BL of 28.8Tm. So my question is. Can the beyma driver perform good in the 1850 horn? Another thing i would like to do for practical reasons is change the width from 636mm to 580 mm or is that a bad idea?

Thanks!

Theoretically it can, but I seem to remember that Rog didn't like the use of Beyma speakers in hornloaded, since the cone's wouldn't be up to the job. Anyone?

Bad idea (with capitol B as you can see).

Ok thanks! I won't touch the width.

But can anyone help me with the Beyma 18g50?

For that Beyma driver I'd build the 186 Horn instead as it is better suited to drivers of lower EBP.

However, since the Beyma isn't much different in price to the PD186, why not just build a PD186 horn?

Ok thank's everyone! I'll start building the 186 horn then.

The reason I want to use beyma is because I have 4 18g50 woofers and i don't have te money to buy something else .

It may well work since the specs are similar. Take a risk and use the 4 18"s you have,you could blow the cones to bits if your unlucky. Or be safe and sell them to some one and use the driver that everyone knows,works.
