Further to our recent sheep terrorism

Ground plane plot of a HD215 (a double), 24db butterworth highpass at 40hz.

A pair of HD215's...

Three HD215s

And a plot with all three traces on...

Have a look at ETF. It has a LF mode that delivers very nice results for measuring subs up to 150Hzish and it also shows you any potential resonances (generally accompanied by dips in FR)

As yet I've not got my head round ETF...

And i'm assuming thats with PD154's loaded.  Interesting to see that dip at 125hz.

I found thru experimenting that a reasonably wide Q BP EQ cut of 2 or 3db at around 120hz gave a large increase in perceived bottom end whilst buying another led's worth of headroom at the amp.  Seems thats what's needed to flatten the response so i'm glad my ears are working right!

Seems 63hz is the ideal cutoff to an X1!

Nice one Dom

Hello,

Dom was it you talking about 40-45hz extension with multiple HD15 cabinets? Do you use EQ to reach that?

Best regards,

Walt
