Went to local Computer Fair today, and picked up 1x 2gB PC6400 DDR2 DIMM for £18 !!!

Not Kingston or Corsair or Samsung, but works and is as labelled. Wink

Crucial is only £20.69 for the same and I'd trust that far more than computer fair RAM! We've got a trade account with them too, so get it even cheaper (10% or so off I think).

Plus post though, as would be Crucial?
So a bargain at the fair really.

Until it starts giving CRC errors under load/heat

If your computer isn't mission criticial then cheapo stuff will do a job, but if you need to depend on it then steer clear. There will be those that say 'it's all the same', it's not.

Cheap RAM is not as "cheap" as it used to be. LOL

I could have had Kingston for the same price, but he had run out.

I've had Infineon/TA Memory, and been quite happy with both of these for years. But then again, I'm not overclocking, So my components just keep working for years now.Wink

Had returns with Crucail and Corsair, never Kingston. Elixir the worst in my experince, apart from Ebuyer ownAngry. Aria own seems good

Another vote for Kingston here, had their ram in my old machines, never had any problems, but had failures with both Crucial and Corsair before too....just bought 4gb (4x1gb) of Kingston for my latest dell...I would allways pay a few extra pounds for their product,i think its worth it.

Be seeing you.
