I think your cutsheet is wrong rus.

the bigger sheet shows 1136 which is bigger than the whole cab.

that sheet should be 1064

hi gethin thank you for pointing that out to me.

sorry your right my cut sheet is wrong but it should'nt be 1064 like you say it should be 1100.

i feel like such a dick i got it wrong because of the way i was looking at the plan.

there not really hard work i just looked at the plan a little wrong. i've checked the plans over again and the only mistake i made was the top and bottom instead of being 670x1136.

it should be 670x1100. all the rest of it is right. i've double checked it. and it is a really simple design (i hope i wont be eating my words again) no i wont.

thanks again gethin for pointing that out for me. Thumbs Up

Another thing i'm not too sure about is the baffle.

The length of the cab is 1100.

so 1100 - 36 (2 x 18mm each end of the box) = 1064

then 1064 - 36 again (the ports) = 1028

then 1028 - 120 (port size)  = 908

so 908 divide by 2 = 454

So should the baffle be 454x500mm  ??

Yes I'm going to build a pair very soon.

Trying to decide whether I should go for MDF or ply.

I want ply but i don't want to pay 50 quid a sheet!!

I was talking to my mate earlier and we are thinking about using ply for the outer box and use MDF for all the bracing ports and baffles.

hi. gethin

go for ply all the way its not worth having the mdf swell up on you for the few quid more the ply would be worth it.

I spose it would be worth the extra couple quid.. but hows the bracing gonna get wet?

hi.

i did'nt really mean getting wet as nodout you know what happens to mdf if it's in damp condistions im not saying your cabs would be but if they ever were the mdf baffle and bracing could swell up nasty. Pinch

Any idea of how many sheets of sheets of ply would be needed for 2 cabs?

hi.

well  for starters it's not 454mm inside like you said it's 464 the port is a rectangle tube it takes for small sheets of 18mm board to make the port take a second look at the plan on my cutsheet i made one mistake top&bottom should be 1100mm long instead of 1136 as i'd said.

if what i have said does'nt help let me know.
