I know that the Fane Colosus 18XB can be used in the G sub design.

But how good is it compared to the other drivers?

I can get the Fane drivers VERY cheap so it would be nice if it works well.

You could quite easily make a double 18" with two separate 200l enclosures within it (ie double up the design on the Fane website)  you will get bass down to 35hz easily and knowing that this enclosure is specific for the drivers you are looking to buy.  Also I can say that you will be very pleased with the result as I have heard this design and by using a driver made by the people that provide both turbosound and funktion 1 you won't have any reliability issues.  

So you would say that i should build 2 of the Fane designs as one cab.

And that would play better than a G sub with the same driver?

What about the 15" design Fane got?

Does it work good? as i double.

I've built double fane reflex 15XB cabs.  Produce a solid bottom end.

Singles are easier to shift if you sometimes do smaller gigs, just place them adjacent to double them up, but singles do end 18mm wider due to the extra wood layer.

You can do exactly the same with the 15 design on their site in fact I may have one at home I will have a look and if i can find it i will pm you with it if not just use the one on their site and double up.  Again you should get below 40hz without to many problems at all.  In terms of building the double eighteen yes just double up that design ensuring the internal volume remains at 200ltr per driver(separate enclosures though).  I personally agree that building singles is a good idea as it makes no difference to the overall spl if you have two singles next to each other or a double cab. and I also agree that it gives the flexibilty to use singles for smaller venues

 In looking at the planns for the "G-Sub",I could not find a measurement for the placement of the b.board,ie distance from back of cab.to b.board.Can anyone help me with this?

Tell you what, make this single 18 inch reflex design by Fane and use two a side. Easier to carry and lift a single 18 inch reflex is.

Uses the Fane 18XB as one of the recommended drivers for those plans,so I suggest you go for them plans of single 18 inch reflex above.

 Well a single 18 inch reflex is obviouslly easier and lighter to carry than dual 18 inch reflex like the G-sub.

    Thanks Toxic for the single 18 design info.I already have two pair of single 18's.One pair of Cerwin Vegas and one pair that I built myself.Portability is not an issue.I believe that I can get an approx.cubic vol.of the G sub from the info given but that would lead to a much too long process of box tuning This is what I am trying to avoid.......
