The old yamaha s0112t speakers had two different sized bass drivers in a common volume and a vertical array of cone tweeters! Made me wonder if such an arrangement would work for nearfield monitoring with 4(or more) cheap 8ohm hifi cone tweeters spaced as closely as possible with a suitable pro mid or two? Maybe a 12" with a vertical array up the side of the cab?

I'm sure you could get over 115-120db up close and still have reasonable quality?
