I just saw signs in my endz for the Tottenham Carnival. Google search says it's tomorrow!

http://www.tottenhamcarnival.co.uk/

Looks a bit dry. With all that sponsorship you'd think they could muster up some proper entertainment (read heavyweight sounds). Am I missing something? Billing is weak. NE London are definitely letting the side down Mr Tek.

S

P.S. this is the manor where club Norick was. Who organizes this thing?

From a few years back they stopped any forms of sound systems taking part in Tottenham carnival & seems to be getting very lame!

Wouldn't mind if they brought back some of the open air events back over Hackney Downs & Hackney Marsh.

The last time I heard Channel One they were mentioning about them playing at Liverpool carnival, but been getting 2 different dates, one of them I think it's clashing same day with Unity day Leeds!

We played at Birmingham Carnival yesterday for the first time. After blowing 2 of our double 15 cabs the other week, we arranged to borrow 2 double 18's for bass but they turned out being single 18" cerwin Vegas Ouch. BUT real greatfull to have had use of them anyway and it went well. What a really strange layout, with the sounds grouped so closely together. We had Gemini (I think) with a wall of boxes right next to us. We were definately the smallest sound with only 8 scoops but man, I love my mid tops Big smile
When we first strung up a friendly lady from the carnival commity came around to tell us it could be no louder than 65DB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She obviously had special measurement equipment in her ears that was checking our levels as no other form of db reader was to be seen LOL And they insisted 65db was the correct volume and we would be shut down if we went any louder, didnt see her again after that Star

I did bro, I was very impressed with Love injection. Sounded very clean, Looked like they were using a Allen & Heath mix wizard instead of a pre amp, they were not drawing any heavy bass line but with that clarity I'm sure they got it. The Last time I saw and heard Love injection was about 12 years ago. There was a sound opposite the main stage that had what looked like 5 RX18's with PD's each side, early in the day they sounded good.

I waited a long time to hear if they would sound the same as last year, but didn't! I thought they weren't there this year!

The systems were too close together this time round! Some cabs were nearly touching each other back to back!

I will take you up on that Clap I think Bham carnival is proberly the best place to do that as well.

We will NOT be at our usual corner at Nottinghill Carnival this year but we are taking a smaller system to portabella road. I will be back from Jamaica the same weekend so might not make the Sunday.
