Hello      I need to build a pair of horn loaded tops and i do not have any exp. with them.    I think i  already have some drivers that would work?

I have a pair of mackie m44ti compression drivers, im 99% sure they are just rebadged rfc n450.  I would need to purchase horns to go with them.

I have 3 15 in woofers, 2 woofers a friend of mine put together with jbl 2226 v/c and cones and china baskets. One rfc 15 out of the dumpster at mackie when they used to have a factory in wa state, i cant find any t/s on it but it sounds the same as the jbl clones i have in a reflex box...  it has a p/n 111680002 and a sticker bgx15887    From what i have read in this section it sounds like the x-tro is forgiving on the 15 section.   Im thinking try and find another rfc to match and see what happens?

Im thinking of ordering new b&c 8pe21 unless someone can sugest something better that has come out in the same price range since the plans came out?

I have a crown ce2000, i know they arnt that good...  I have had it running the jbl clones in reflex boxes for the last year or so and it sounds great.  Im thinking it will handle 4ohm sterio on the 15s fine.

I have a alesis ra300 that i am thinking of running the compression drivers with, have to do alittle reserch on it. It has been running the 8in monitors at my computer area for awhile and sounds good. I havent done anything else with it yet

I need to purchase a amp to run the 8in section. I have a OLD peavey cs-800 but i dont think it will like being bounced around in a rack this far into its life. And i think it draws alot of power for what it does...

These will be playing on top of a pair of v18-1000 in big front loaded horns driven off of a peavey gps3500 outdoors with mainly electronic music.

What do you guys think?

I have a pair of beyma td-245 horns on there way, and i just won a dcx 2496 on ebay.

I should be making sawdust as soon as i make some money for plywood...

Looks like a good start, let us know how the drivers perform. If you don't think they are delivering at least you have the cabs built and will be able to swap them out. I would really try to find a set of 4 identical 15s as soon as possible though that will suit the xtro and model well in it's straight horn, it's fairly easy to simulate.

Your amps will make noise and a start is a start! The 2496 will help you get the best out of what you have got, have a read up on how it interprets signal level compared to your amps (dBu and dBFs) as otherwise that may confuse you.

Good luck!
