I heard years ago that someone had used 12 inch concrete sewer line ( NEW obviously) and mounted a 12" driver in it, for exceptional bass. It was only a rumor, of course. These lines come in 5 foot sections, so the cubic feet volume would be about right. Has anyone ever heard of this?

look up nelson Pass's El pipeo (passlabs.com or summin, google is your friend). They use sono-tube used for casting concrete pillars.

I've often thought of recessing bits of concrete pipe into walls/floors for subs. Would have to watch for resonances tho, being a very regular shape.

dampen it and remember tha in a house there are other resonances too....often worse that the cabs'.

Back in the early days of Hi-Fi there were many designs based around the use of concrete pipes for enclosures.
One of the most popular was for the Wharfedale Super 8" driver that was mounted with the pipe standing vertical and a reflector mounted so that the mid and treble from the whizzer cone was deflected horizontally.

It would be pretty easy to put a baffle inside to breakup the standing waves if they proved to be a problem.

The thing with a cylinder is it has one or two major resonance-they might just be out of band if you filter sharply.
