i just found an interesting horn on his websites, it's look like it had been designed for a dual 10inch driver, and he make a modification for a single 15" fane driver, fane 15xb:

here is the plan but remember that the plan is for the dual 10" driver and the closed part must be bigger for using with the fane driver(have a look to the link i post on the end of this thread, the guy gives some explanation about the modification), you have to get about 60L VRC:

here is a simulation with the fane 15XB vs wsx with 18P300,the 2box in 0,5PI(i used the input parameter from his website, so you have to check if good):

black is fane, grey is wsx

here are the hornresp input parameter(i didn't chek them):

here's the link from the designer, with some explanations about the modification and original design:

There are a couple of errors in this simulation....

First, the second conical section is not 84cm long and should be more like 50.

Secondly, The fourth section of flare in the sim needs to be removed completely - you CANNOT try to include the walls/floor as a horn section AND model eighth space as well, its one or the other.  William has been chipped on this many times before...

The size of the room the sub is used in will introduce "cabin gain" at the low end, and the amount will depend entirely on the room - a measured increase in low end compared to the sims with the box in position has nothing to do with any increased performance of the box, but everything to do with the room it is in.

ok as i said before i didn't check it(thanks for doing it), here's a simulation with last section removed and 2nd con value to 50:

never try a horn in a car so can't tell, but in little space horn are not the best sounding...in car my favourit is closed box for sound quality, and vented when you need some extra db.

to know if it will sound better, you have to try...
on simulation i get similar results with a 18woofer with modification of the S's values, but that will do the box much bigger for the same result, not interesting at all.
and when i used a 18woofer with same parameter it give big dip and peak:

Has anyone built the 15'' version of this? Any way  of modifying the design to get it playing lower, does any one know what the spl would be in open space?

I would have thought that when you give them some real power that they would fall off the stands

Yes, make it larger and longer. Or make do with a smaller bandwidth, peakier response or lower sensitivity.
