What amp power would people recommend to run 4 of these cabs in 4R rms?

yep - 2 per side.

ideally giving each PD1850 around 1000w.

crown 5000 is good

I heard 4 the other day, two ran off a bridged proline 2700 (1350w each), and two off an XP5000 (8r stereo)

Sounded incredible, so either of them options would be a good idea imo, and both cost the same i believe (xp5000 or 2x proline 2700) you'll get more power with the prolines but probably 30+kg in weight

4r rms is not a rating, please try to make sense.

Read the question properly, perhaps punctuation was lacking but read it like this;

What amp power would people recommend to run 4 of these cabs, at 4R, rms?

((What rms power to run 4 cabs at 4r per side.))

Look at the rating on the loudspeaker, and multiply it by the amount of loudspeakers you wish to drive. It makes perfect sense.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

look at rating on the loudspeaker, multiply by 1.2 to 2 times

=  this is what you ideally need to send to the driver - ESPECIALLY the pd1850.

for pd1850, i'd try and get at least 2kw over 2 drivers.

Yeah Ollies were loving the bridged proline up 'em, rating of 2.7Kw @ 4r.

EDIT; v18-1000s that is... (supporting the 1.2 -2x wattage claim)

Yeah you're right, but the question says cabs not drivers... so 1850horns,

@ Solution. What are you planning on loading them with?

I run 8 rcf L18P300 loaded 186's on a MC2 E90, so the speakers get they program power, which is 2000 each. Some friends told me it would be too much, but i didn't blow a speaker yet. So i think you can power them at program power with a proper amp..

yeah sorry should of been clearer. I'l be running pd 1850's in 1850 cabs. It's always been my understanding that I need to power bass with 1.5 x the rms rating so I'm thinking I'll need to feed each driver with 1500w

I have always found bigger amps work better, plenty of power for those transients without clipping.

Just remember not to get greedy, If you start pushing an amp that is already twice the RMS power of the speaker into clipping  it won’t be long before the driver suffers thermal melt down.

I plan on running my 4 Looney’s 2 aside off a Macro Tech 9000i, which should be able to produce a 3.5k burst per channel, although I must say I will be doing some research into how to use the limiters in this amp to keep my speakers safe.
