Why don't you like bi-amped tops? they are better in every way!
If it's because you want to be able to use only two,  2-channel amplifiers to run this system, just run in Mono until you can get another amp! Most amps will easily drive 2x tweeters from one channel and 2x woofers from the other...

It is true the Turbosound models you mentioned are old, but they are still very, very good, and would be a good match for your horns. The woodwork is of a similar high standard, for a start :) You may want a mid-bass box or kick-bin between them, though.

If you don't like "selfmade" ("DIY" is a better way of saying that) midtops, you haven't heard a good one!

(....like mine Cool)

Which would you prefer?

What is a "good one DIY" top?

id strongly consider the mt121 crossing from the 1850's at around 130hz

what's the big slot on the back of your boxes for?

i like the brace design - is it part MDF, part Ply though?

the construction is excellent. the braces do look slightly dangerous though! some drunk head falling against one may not come off too well. am i being overly negative?

its a handle ... if you stand behind the cab and you must pull them backward ... ;)

Jep, basicly MDF, but now I have some cheap ply (6,80€ m²)

So I have made the rest of ply.

From what it says on the FSP page, 120Hz and up...
unless you meant the higher x-over point!

Hi,

I found your design, looks quite nice - somewhat like mt122 from speakerplans but with no information concerning  frequency response or anything. Do you have any information about those boxes- how they perform etc?

All the best,
--
Hi
Thank for your interest

The MT-130 must be compared to the MT121 (Half of a MT122 in low mid). The MT-130 has a little more sensitivity, is more flat, frequencie response goes higher (low mid section), cost less with better sound, easy to build, .

F3 is similar to MT121.

MT-130 response curve of the low-mid section in attached file.

Marc.
