Hi all,
here i'm with some simulations of the MT122 horn.

http://img97.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mt122mod5rj.png">

Power is 300W at 8 ohms.
Black line is Martin Audio W8C simulation without the toroidal phase plug, red is the original single MT122 with P.Audio driver.
Green line is MT122 with the first part of the flare 10 cm longer, loaded with 18 Sound 12MB700 driver.
As you can see that should lower 30 Hz the cutoff frequency and allow ppl to cross at 120-150hz, making it more useable than the original MT122, as a bonus the ripple is reduced.

What do you think about that?

Regards

The sims shows it going well to 2K.  Can they actually get that high?

I don't think they'll sounds fine over 1.2k (reflection problems?), consider that Martin Audio cross them at 750hz and with the phase plug!!
Another thing to consider is beaming, if simulations are true, at 2k you have 24°H x 33°V... a bit too narrow :D

Hi, I saw your post about making the first part of the flare on the 122 10cm longer. Is the angle of the first part the same, so the sd at the end of the first flare is bigger?

and does the second part have to be a sharper angle so that the overall lenth of the horn is the same?

hope you can help, im gona build two 122's and the extra 30hz will really help
steve
