had to find out what you were talking about out of curiosity...

wow. -3 dB @ 24 Hz. it doesn't seem to specify any minimum number of boxes for this response either. not quite sure what compound planar loading entails, a quick google wasn't too helpful.

the spec of that cabinet is proper sick though, if it lives up to the claims. they are good enough to inform us that it is loaded with the b&c 18pzb40 so presumably the process is repeatable. it is a merkin box and this is a uk dominated forum, i haven't come across tcs myself until you mentioned them (although that doesn't mean much) but i don't know how lucky you will be finding coppies of the plans anywhere.

what i suggest you do is hire one, remove the grill and the drivers and spend a happy day with a tape measure. graeme centauri did the same with the wsx and posted the plans which have resulted in the formidable void loaded wsxtras.

james.

thanks, got the plans

does not look to advanced, just a bassreflex in a "V" configuration, no horn at all in there. should have a bit of trow because of the mounting of the drivers, but nothing new under the sun really

Yep, just looks like reflex cab, using a sort of loading with drivers angled towards each other. Do you think the chambers the drivers are in, and the rear chamber are all one big chamber?

Posted By: Mircea Bartic

yes, there must be an error in the drawing, there is one big chamber in there

I've seen this design used by a few manufacturers, and the only benefit is a reduced front surface for tight packing of large density subwoofer clusters

How can they claim -3dB @ 24Hz? seems very good for a reflex design, and it's not a huge enclosure.

I know this page is 10 years old, but these clamshell designs of the TCS2800 is the final piece to an almost perfect 4 way system (if they truly do reach 25hz) which from experience these subwoofers really do outrun any F1 or Turbo box in its range!

Hi, I know this is a really old post but I’m looking for the TCS2800 plans to make some additional subs to go along with the 4 we have already. If anyone can send me the plans to stuballingall***@***gmail***.com (delete all the ***) that would be much appreciated!

Thanks
