NEW SHOTS OF THE NEW VOIDS 1ST OUTING.
WILL POST OLDER SHOTS OF THE OLDER RIG WE STILL HAVE WHEN IM NOT FEELING AS LAZY

for anyone asking about the arraying of the prime tops............
as we were playing predonminantly fast 4/4 music (hardtek/gabber) with a bit of dnb, we decided to try out the hds as kicks.
only problem was they were not deep enough to support the back heavy primes when splayed.
The sound in the room was all cross phased out anyways dure to the res 4s and porn horns so it didnt make much difference.

3 stacks were:
4LABHorns, 2USBs, 4Porns
4Psycos, 4HDs, 3Primes
6FK1 218s, 4FK1 Res4

for a 1st outing the psycos sounded a little hard but im sure with time that will fade.

Looking good Wardy, blending in nicely with the Bristol scene ;)

Did you not find the 2 x 15 sections in the Primes were enough on the kick front?

once we started baz yes.

in future we wont be using any hds,
it was just in case for the gabber, also taking the utterly sickening sounds of the primes away from directly into punters faces.
running 3 drivers a side from a camco v6 was very loud and was barely ticking over.

twas a strange mix, and to be honest, the void stack was easily enough for the whole room.
we had about 750 in the door (normally have about 1000)

been stood in front of them a couple of times now. definitely don't need the hds but primes at ear level on the weekend was uncomfortable. maybe you need two more sykos!

Bass doesn't hurt as much as the compression driver firing directly into my left ear!

I regularly go out with 12 psychos and 6 primes and stand in front of them for long periods of time, i think they sound lovely. Not as delicate as a stasys 3 mk2 but they are designed for really large events.

One thing i have realised is that you actually have to manage your system properly when your using them. As they are getting into the realms of spl you average joe does not deal with regularly i am constantly having to mention to people about not running them as loud as they go because they can go that loud. You have to teach yourself a new set of skills to run them loud because if you don't the crowd suffer, badly in some cases.

Any way, i think everyone should come to glade this year to make their minds up about them. Waiting for the tent specs before i can confirm what i need but i have some good ideas

bryan, thats what i thought when i heard them in portugal i think for the size of the event they could have been turned down slightly, i would imagine at really large event you get really loud top really far back into the crowd

we didnt actually have them turned up that much.
we tried to level it up with the other rig in the room for a balanced sound.

it sounded better than the 1st time we used them, and im guessing saturday night it will sound even better again.
:)

You blow fewer drivers this way brian!

This is exactly how we run things, way below 100% and when the speakers warm up they always sound louder anyway.

Well yes, theres ear fatigue as well. Everyone loves it loud, but some people push it too far and although they think they like it, it can be quite uncomfortable at times. Better to keep it loud and try and keep some of the ear piercing 3-6khz out of the spectrum when it starts to get really loud.

I think glade should be interesting...! ;)

We were running that rig and yeah agreed there were times it could've sounded better. No sleep for 3 days and lots of messyness was totally to blame though. They can sound lovely! Just need to be very careful with them!!! They're brutal when you get it wrong. Get it right though................Big smile

Maybe? I thought there were definitely more than our 8 and your 4 in attendance?

Oh, and to anybody thinking of attending, the lineup is looking quite tasty.

Wardy. lets go and measure up that car park this sunday. I want to put some serious thought behind the system placement this year as i don't think it was in the best place, also can have a think about what new toys i might be able to get my hands on.

Defos up for doing the dirty on it this year though :-)
