Subject: 3U rack case - recomendations?

id like to recase my computer into a 3u rack, every time it gets moved im worried its going to die and is awkward (3U as i have a rackbag spare which would be perfect!). Most the ones out there are really ugly server type cases. Currently got a decent quality giant Antec thing, silent pc build, everythings really well built, solid walls, rubber antishock/vibration mounts for all hardware etc etc.

The company carillon used to trade these prebuilds, very expensive for what they were, but sexy cases!!

Not worried about the 'audio production' gimmicks, i dont use any. Just want a good looking 3u case which will take standard desktop windows components in (got everything so dont need one with PSU or fans if i can help it.)

Any suggestions? Ta, Pat

thanks for the links, but very dull and server like. There must be something marketed for the domestic market not looking too bad!

The terms "Domestic market" and "19" rack mount" don't really go together, so why would anyone design something with those two things in mind...

why do they put LED's in desktop pc components and viewing windows in cases!?

I know plenty of PC boffs who have 19" rackmount servers for their LANs in 'normal' domestic settings (normal for extremely nerdy advanced ICT students), they buy silly gimmics like LED fans which make the computer look radioactive through quaranteen style windows.

Even a server case for a more plush setting with some nice shiny chrome or something designed for a professional setting would be perfect, not something that looks like a transit vans radiator cover crossed with jeremy clarksons huge mouth impersonating a bentleys grill!

I have an Xcase 4U shallow as my home server, would look great (in my opinion) in a high end home theatre rack.

Not the best pic but it looks rather nice with its very clean front

In summary +1 for xcase shallow cases
