None mine or anything to do with me.

Neutronix Stage / Psy trance playground. Martin audio by http://altec.ie - http://altec.ie

The big top, lots of techno, and some drum and bass in here. more martin, also by altec.

Left and right stacks of this:

Rootical soundsystem reggae tent.

2 stacks of this:

i think the scoops are tubbys' (i'm sure some of you would know straight off...), loaded with a mixture of pd1850s and 1500w fanes.

Live bands on the Human-Music stage down by the lake. DB stuff.. i don't know what's what with db stuff tbh..

Liquid stage, lots of dubstep and drum and bass and bassline house type stuff in here... funktion-one by Hertz-U soundsystem. sounding good as always. he owns another infrabass but it's currently out of action due to flood damage.

our own rezsbc selectin here on sunday afternoon

Big BLue Bus lovely cafe had a single stack of worries outernational looney bin / void setup outside for some nice atmosphere..

2 looneys and a stasys 3 mk2, and as i understand something was setup wonky and time wasn't on side to fix it up so a basys top was stuck up there for a quick fix top end

and now for the fun stuff...

my good friend Paddy brought a few of his many crazy contraptions along, well worth posting..

one of his bike mounted systems.. a db opera off a car amp and battery. seen here cycling around playing The Ace of Spades to a crowd listening to Ricardo Villalaobobobs play 9 million hours of techno on the db setup pictured earlier on a lovely sunny saturday afternoon (it was a lovely afternoon really, i enjoyed the techno but didn't really pay attention)..

what evil lurks inside the box...

his home made high nelly. not a sound system but worth a pic

the sinclair C5.. has to be dragged around, the padals just power the sound... old peavy speaker stuck in the back, scientifically had the end sawn off to make it fit, p-audio sn15-b stuck in there, and a double piezo thing on a stick. good times! most fun system there and as always the last one to hold people dancing..

james also brought his rickshaw contraptacycle along too. 12" sub and random car drivers built into a box on the back. good times. in this pic, the other bike system seen earlier is actually leaning on the back so it looks a bit odd here...

good fun weekend.

Line array and reflex subs for psytrance? Who decided that was a good idea? Can't imagine there being much the way of kick!

yeah i dunno.. i didn't spend much time at the trance stage so won't really comment.. i thought the martin setup in the techno tent was pretty overbearing in the top end.. given there was 12 WSX in there i didn't find it particularly bassy at all.. i get the impression that company are more geared up for rock gigs.

Looks like 4 Q subs on top of a B2 to me, but then I am sitting quite far away from the monitor

6x Q1 flown perside with 4x QSubs ontop of 1x B2 perside.  Infills 1x C4 top and 1x C4 sub perside although SL side has a flight case inbetween the top and sub to increase height (and as such, coverage) of stack.  Powered by D12s.

flightcase is to counter the hill, yeah.

yo steve, g'man takin the pics Clap

ya the big top with the w8c/wsx rig, was nice but the wsx must have been hi-passed too high or somethin, my four were WAYY subbier than the stack of 6 when I ran me new kick bins crossed over at 90Hz today Smile
the top end in there would chew your head off tooAngry who puts 1w8c per wsx???
mad as well how far away you could hear the wsx's, right up to the back of the campsite.

didnt really rate the d&b stuff like yourself, funktion-one as usual a pleasure to hear.

yer mans speaker on a bike was class, he was playin some mad screaming noises wen i saw him, funny stuff!

That wsx/w8c system of altecs is a bit of a conundrum....its been for sale a few times in the past. With out saying too much I think Brian/altec have an unuasual way of setting that rig up.

That MA line array on the main stage looks brand new....bet rea sound has somthing to do with it....

yo mark! ya the array was nice and clear, exactly what you want for psy anyway i guess.
the wavefront system is an an amazing rig Tongue but so dissapointing when rigged wrong etc.. Clown
would have been unreal if they had the wsx hi-passed lower and the w8c kick (the wavefront 15'' ported horn) matched under the tops. nice to see martin rockin at the dance festivals tho!
suprised at the lack of void Ermm

i was at Vantastival festival a while ago and the main tent was a big top, all live bands in it. and there was 4 wsx / w8c a side in there.. probably the same guys. i thought the bass sounded better that time even though there was less. i didn't really watch much in there though.. only Kila. top was still a bit full on i thought.

Line Arrays are being spec'ed everywhere now if not most outdoor gigs... it's only a matter of time before everything gig is LA.

Shame as i have just brought a load of SRX kit LOL ... maybe Vertec should be next on the cards

We have had psytrance on martin audio ws218x bins and there hasn't been a problem. Not familiar with the line array tops there though but if the other martin ground stacked stuff is anything to go by it'll be clear and precise.

Judging by the news reports, it was 10 people. Whether they were just driving vans or owned the systems, is for them and the police to sort out I guess.

But I know for a fact that Bryan was busy working that weekend as I just paid a visit to his handiwork. Very nice it was too.

I had kit hired by the police at short notice for 9 months a couple of years ago, that was it free party wise for me, way to expensive if it goes wrong.

Life was all go until a week or so  before the event. We did not think outlaying money for another van just for live gear for one band a wise business choice. After ringing round a few irish hire companies i found that none of them would be happy just to hire out the live kit, this then left the festival organiser in a spot, so he did all he could do, go with another firm.

It was a real shame as i liked it, the irish party soo much harder than people in the uk, would be nice to be offered it next year though.

i saw a bit of the band and i hated them. (i knew i'd hate them from the description tbh )
