Just saw these decks on gumtree look alot like the ones iv seen on the old dj set up things and theyre £20 thought someone here might be interested...

Judging by the bulgin sockets,i would say that had a built-in sound to light unit as well.

Simply awful budget turntables though...look really plasticly and nasty...real church-hall disco.

These NJD Discostar decks used to come in a package with speakers that had light boxes built in, I remember seeing them sold through the catalogues such as Littlewoods years ago.
 
I had a couple of consoles as a teenager with the same turntables, I think they were made by BSR and were like the ones in home midi systems.
 
All plastic construction, weak motor, ceramic cartridges etc.  I could go on but they were probably the worst turntables ever made, closely followed by the Citronic CL12D's which were only slightly better.
 
I've got an NJD Lancaster console that has the CL12D's (badged as NJD) when I had to replace a cartridge in the (plastic) headshell the tags came off the tonearm leads and it was damn near impossible to solder them back on.  They look ok from a distance but on closer inspection even the platter is made of plastic.
