What styles of music will you play through them?

I would advise against it.

The 1850 is designed as a one way bass solution, the X1 is designed as half of a 2 way bass solution. You can of course use the 1850 to be the other half of the 2 way bass solution but its not ideal. If you want to go to the trouble of 2 way bass then its worth while picking cabs that will excel in there dedicated frequency band, hd15's or USB's work very well with X1's

Just build or buy more 1850's. Remember the more you add the lower the group will drop.

Thanks for the reply, im using the system for mainly dance music, IE psy trance, hard trance, house, electro, tech etc.

If i build two more 1850's will my mt122 cope with 6 1850's?

For that type of music 1850's are ideal and X1's aren't required.

They will keep up if they are loaded with good drivers and amped properly.

Yea, for that kind of music, I wouldnt bother with X1s, unless you have really subby psytrance (like Infected Mushroom - Noise Maker), but then you would need a lot more X1s to hear much of a difference in the response.

+1 on not building X1's. The 1850 horn was pretty much designed specifically for the styles of music that you play.

what hz would 2 letterbox x1's drop? and do they have a rumbly sound like the phycos. just thinking cause we have 8 1850's perfect for house etc. propper punchy but for jungle, breakcore etc. dont have the ideal rumble for it? so 2 letterbox x1's under 4 1850's either side? good idea or not?

Why not just hire some and try them? Depending on where you are could be a plan. You'd probably need at least 8 to go with that pile so not a cheap outlay. Try it first, if it gives you the sound you want then go for it.
