eVERYHTNG GETTING COMLICATED FOR ME PLEASE HELP.

Right, i was thinkng about getting some mt122's built. But i have found out their may be an easier chaper method for a cab that fits the P Audio sn12b neo horn+Driver. Am i correct?

If so where would i get the designs?

How much bass have you got?

A single or pair of single horn loaded 12's will keep up with an awful lot of bottom end.

There is a design for a porn horn box in the archives if you do a search for it.  Perhaps consider using a different top horn after the feedback and measurements, especially polar plots

i was comparing them to bulding em out of wood but id gues the cost difference isnt that huge actuly.[especialy when time is added]and by wood i mean an mt122 or similarly "fun" to build cab. i stand by the fact that they are nice even having only heard em once. compared with other premade horns their not that expensive [roughly same price as anything similar ive heard of.]

what i meant was they might be a little expensive sounding at first, they prolly cost effective. you dont save 140 odd quid by making it out of wood do you! so id say porn horns arnt expensive when you consider what you get at the end of it.

hi caveman

ive just got a new job (bout time i know) working for a big defense company.  im a materials engineer so am used to working with ceramics/polymers/metals so i mite try and make a mould of the mt122 and either injection mould it using hdpe (for ease of processing) or maybe through a resin matrix that is then isostically cold pressed for uniformity.

i would like to injection mould as this would make a potential unit price of £10 but would require a die to be speacially designed which would cost about £500 unless i get it cnc'ed in house (which i dont think well happen).  but resin moulding takes the piss time wise and is highly labour intensive so i dont particularly wanna go down that route.

from ur thread ion squatjuice i take it you've already ordered your mt122's?  so i guess its abit late for u but look me up in summer and i mite have something up and running by then mate.

im sure the guy must just be busy and not in fact trying to con u in any way.  alot of ppl on here and on squatjuice will make them for u... once you have definitely decided u want them.

if u still cant find someone to build them by the next 2 weeks, pm me and i will get it done for you by a carpenter based in london used be a friend of mine.  seems like your getting yourself in quiet a frenzy over these cabs... have u seen that thread on squatjuice about the cheap turbosound tops?!  maybe it would be the less stressful route.. ie buying ready made speakers.

It should be relatively simple to make a wooden mould from the plans available.. it'd just take a little time with a calculator and someone with the skills to build it.. Making it from steel shouldnt be much harder except you'd need some slightly different tools and possibly a little more effort finishing it..

not yet... let me build em out of wood first then i'll see if its worth it.  if there easy to build out of wood then i mite not bother.  i got some fibre glass horns yesterday and looking at the i think the easiest thing to do would be to make a wooded mould and use fibre glass....

or get some off mykey
