Hi each A.S.S. mates,
the red scoops are in France now.. with Bhale Bacce crew (greetings to them )., aren't they ? Has Tony build the bass and mid/hi section too ? I don't recognize the design of them...

for else,
I would vote for newer R2U bass cabs.. Triangular shape.. B&C 15NDL76 inside..

I'm not saying anything about my cabs , only to say I now have new badges which are the same but bigger. The acrylic dome badges before were from the Spektra range, so I've had bigger ones made to suit the larger cabs now being made.

Not in the past year Cravings, have been busy refurbing the house.

@Audioman....most of the original drivers were dead, and of course Gauss being long gone,so have substituted vintage jbls in their place...bass cabs now have E145's..(tight squeeze to fit these in,due to the monster magnet on the 145)...mids are B&C 12pe32's....2inch radials are now JBL 2445......the lenses are B&C 2inch (i forget the model number off-hand)...1 inch are B&C de25.

@iand ....it has a lovely punchy crisp sound...Tony really did an excellent job designing and building this system back then.

Great work Ian, you've done well with the cabs, but you don't need me to tell you that. Seeing the lenses has taken me back to when I was making them. I used to profile the lens  shapes on a normal router with a single flute cutter. The cutting speed was too fast  with a normal router cutter. It was a dodgy job with ali flying everywhere, but the end result was always worth it. I remember when I first saw a JBL lens in a Tasco rig. In those days it was hard to believe that such a component existed. At that time, I never thought I would end up making them. To me, they are still one of the best looking pieces of kit ever.

Thought it was about time to post these pictures. They were sent to me from Jim ( SatASSfaction) sometime ago. Jim is a keen follower to say the least, and I was amazed at the dedication and work he put in with his kit. So I post these pictures as a tribute to him. He's not around at the moment, so this is done in his absence.

Hi guys!  I need to quiz your brains on something ASS related!

I have recently come into ownership of an ASS rig that needs a bit of a clean and a few new coats of paint, but I could really do with knowing how much it would be likely to fetch in a well-restored condition.  I have the following:
4x MX500 2x12 and 1.4" Mid Highs
2x BS1200 2x15 kick-bins
2x SB121H 1x21 Sub

Any ideas on how much that would fetch?  I need to work out how much of my time it's worth spending on this project.
Thanks guys!

Not sure about the 500's,but the BS1200s should make around £800 a pair when nicely painted and with the correct PD1550's in them.
Sb 121h are around £1000 a pair,again with the correct drivers in.(pd2150's)

I have recently come into ownership of an ASS rig that needs a bit of a clean and a few new coats of paint, but I could really do with knowing how much it would be likely to fetch in a well-restored condition.  I have the following:
4x MX500 2x12 and 1.4" Mid Highs
2x BS1200 2x15 kick-bins
2x SB121H 1x21 Sub

Any ideas on how much that would fetch?  I need to work out how much of my time it's worth spending on this project.
Thanks guys!

Mx500s are a 2x10" driver 600s are the 2x12"

Some pics of my system over the years, but first me and the legend Tony

The early days with my first ASS RX18's and homebuilt cabs on top

MX600's on top of BS1200's on top of RX18's

The BS1200's are great bass bins but they couldnt keep up with the RX18's I used to go through PD1550's like toilet paper after a bad curry! Dead The BS1200's have been sold and replaced. I am in the process of finishing off my new sound system 'Divinity' and we got some ASS oneaways lol even Tony will be suprised to see these again, and especially how we are using them, nuf said for now but Ill post pics once its finished Smile
