 Hello...

What's your opinion to drive subs about (Crest 9001 or VZ5000) vs.  LA 48? (PD.1850 in Scoops in my case?).

I don't want to get in the debate about Crest 9001 vs VZ5000 as it has been discussed extensively already, and each amp has its own fans, but I'd like to hear people's opinion about "chopped amps" (that's how we say in french but not sure it the same in english Confused )
I know some people are against that kind of new generation amps but the LA 48 seems to be a high end amp having some positive points, specially weight and  lower power supply needs. Price-wise its almost the same range, Crest 9001 or VZ5000 are around 1500euros where LA 48 is around 1700euros...

By LA48, do you mean L-acoustics brand Lab Gruppen FP6400? If so, then i'm sure people would think they're ok on bass, but prefer the heavy models, for the "heavy sound". Also, kinda depends on what music you're playing- stuff with long basslines or kicky Techno type stuff. Long basslines maybe better with the Crown/ Crest. Techno with the Lab.
Also, in UK you can get Crest or Crown for about 1000 Euros easily, but the Lab is more expensive, maybe 1500-1600 Euros.
If you go for the Crown, I have some available for sale at £900!! Big smile

Yes a LA48 is a Lab 64 no difference :)

Lab are very good but your going to perfer the sound of the VZ5000 mainly due to its poor damping and there subby sound ( these things can help tho )

I've owned Lab 64's, CA18's and the like .... if weight is not a problem stick with the heavy ones but if weight is a problem or a big factor then go lightweight buddy :)

The mains, "Trip" or similar. Modern version of fuse (sort of).  Current rush is such that it trips the breaker (same as blow the fuse in the old days, sort of)

Thanks Builder for your explanations, its the first time I hear about this 9001 problem...

SO if it was a fuse i guess you'd just have to change it and turn the amp on again... But what is the solution with the breaker? Is it hard to fix when it trips?
Bless
