boring. ES18 can look way nicer. same with USB. an ES15 would look tasty with some good woodwork. not hard to adapt one imo

i would totally just build a hd15. i think the 5 section flare looks really good if you don't like / want to do the curved front. or recently someone did one in 3 pieces i think, also looked good.
you won't get a tidier plan for a 15" bph i doubt. |

I do see plans for 15 & 18bph. I think his version are hd18-bph with a horizontal brace aren't they? |

hmmmm here's an experiment i did a few months back and loaded with a spare 18sound that i had, but i reckon fane15xb would have been better or a BMS 15n630!! crappy wood prototype sounded alright, classic BPH sound. it just sounded like the upper end of a usb, but cleaner... could do about 85-90hz up to 200+. the red one on the left is the ES18  |

edit: just realised the white one is a ES18, and the red ones is a 21" experiment. you get the idea though. |

Saul, please tell us the dimensions of your ES15. "it just sounded like the upper end of a usb, but cleaner".... sounds good! With their rear-loading, direct path for the wavefront through the small front chamber (with my wonky triangular baffle mod), and a 15" driver, I think we can make these sound better, less like a BPH and more like a proper, accurate horn. ------------- former Eurovision contestant |

I am about to build a load of HD15 with a 3 piece curve. The measurements are exactly the same as the original HD15. I will be uploading the plan as soon as i get it drawn up in autoCAD with all measurements. The volume difference between the original and the 3piece curve plan is about 0,08%. so i would say it is near to perfection :) ------------- Best regards... Frank |
