A 50m long DMX cable.
Think how much cable you could buy for £250

The other cheaper option (if you're running chamsys... other systems are available :-)...) is to set up a wireless network and control a machine running the software with a usb dongle remotely... not to sure of reliability, i only say that because i've never done it but give them a ring, I'm sure they'll be able to help...
------------- blah blah blah blah blah......

Thats the one i have an audwino based system useing xbee pro transmiter (that goes 1.5 mile). I have a 0-9 key pad in a box that transmits to another box where it is turnd in to midi by another audwino then goes in to freestyler. i dont have the programing skils to do this my frind mark did all the programing (and most of the outher bits ). I warn any one atempting this you will need some skill in soldering and wrighting in c but for any one who wants to have a go i can send you all the code mark has writen for mine.
edit i tell a lie i think he used pics not audwinos
