Hi, I have decided to hold on to my AP6040 for the minute.
I would be interested in the AP4040 if you wanted to sell it.

I've just got two an AP4040 and an AP2020 when did these become discontinued and are they worth £250 each in good clean condition?

To get a feel for the U.K. value, Yorkville sell thier amps to H.K. that are rebranded and imported in to the U.K. selling as the H.K. VX 1200 and VX 2400 These retail at about £ 1500.00 given their superior performance.

So second hand in great condition then I got a bargain at £500 for the pair?

How would you compare these vx2400 amps to C-Audio SR707 mk1's in terms of capability 70's hero?

I think that two of those are a bargain at £500.00. have no idea of the C audio spec or quality of build, the yorkville stuff is old school though, heavy, reliable and punchy.

What I'm looking for at the mo is two of the yorkville AP6040's I want to swap four of my SR707's for two AP6040 but can't find anyone who wants a swap

I doubt if you would get a swap for them, the yorky is a newer amplifier I think but it looks like the C audio Amps you have are reliable, have no idea of the spec, the yorkvills you have do 2400 rms in to 8r bridged thats 5k ish , isnt that enough? although I have four, the bigger yorkie is about 2k aside but a more expensive again bit of kit, as far as I know they are class A.B. amps which is probably the best your going to get, as I said the VX 2400 retails around £1500.00 which is a rebranded yorkville, I have the service/parts number for them if you need it, I have repaired a few bits on one of mine, some num nuts supplied an incorrect cableConfused The only known issue is that on a limited number of amps when securing the heat sinks to the output stage a bridge wire can get caught underneath and eventually short and as always its worth popping the lid off to see that the business end of things look ok.
Been using them for a while now,no issues running subs and the spec is BCD watts which means before clipping distortion, just so you know.

Thanks 70's the SR's I have do 1000watts a side into 4r rms power wise similar to the 4060 and are a fairly desirable amp it's just if I had two 6040's it they would allow me to free up 6u of rack space

The Yorkville/HK´s are quite rare. Why not look for something more common, like Matrix, Crest, Crown, QSC, etc, etc?

Because as I already have two yorkville amps I would like to run my whole system from the same brand of amp so the same sound quality remains throughout
