Well - any horn design bods here have a bit of time on their hands ?
Just wondering if the following is vaguely possible :-
Use 2 small drivers - 6.5" or so .... in some kind of push-pull arrangment to play down to about 60 ? 65 ? 70 ? - with _very_ high efficiency - in something with overall volume about that of a large suitcase.
There are some quite efficient mid drivers in that size (some neo = good from weight POV) - with Fs in the 70-80 range I think .... prob very low xmax ....... but they're all 8R (or 16) .... Being 8R puts amplifier power down to a tiny 10W per driver in my idea - yeah :-) - but could horn loading make up _that_ much ground in SPL at those kind of frequencies - in that kind of enclosure volume ?
I could do the trawling for drivers if anyone's curious enough to look into it ....
P.S. I should say "very high efficiency" compared to same driver performance in a BR box/whatever.
