Did hiphop festival stage week ago with some subhired wedges that are normally used in posh corporate gigs, well see the results for your self:

Some not-for-corporate-work gear got its share too

Seems like you try to do your best, to give best you can to audience and performers but it doesn't matter to them.

I'd be pissed if that was my gear, i'd be wanting to find the little shit that did it and cut his hands off.

Aww man that really is shit. Surely there's got to be some way of removing it without doing to much damage? Shame you didn't get a chance to remove their fingers.

It's possible they thought the person that provided the system would have approved of the tagging...
It's more likely that they're just idiots, however.

That's some sort of wax / oil based crayon "for big boys", used to mark asphalt and such things at construction sites. We tried some alcohol and scrubbing on one LE1200 and it took paint shine away at the same time.We never caught the bastard.

Looks like it maybe a garden marker pen not chalk...maybe try a little area with IPA see what happens? Looks like a good epoxy finish so it should be quite robust compared to marker ink.

Had a load of our kit tagged at a drum and bass night once - Not one of these pieces of 'street art' was anything other than a talentless scrawl.

'Professional' graffiti artists don't bother tagging other peoples speakers - If they did, I probably wouldn't have minded so much.

Can't see the pics but I'd be seriously pissed off if someone tagged up my speaker stack.

Someone in the local area would know who the "professional graff artist" is and where he lives. Some tuff-cab would be much harder to remove!

Grrr, everytime i see this i wish i catch such a stupid little A**hole one day...

At one of the last gigs a "professional idiot" had the great idea to draw a fullsize chalk comic-cat on both stacks of 3x TRS218s - it was no fun at all removing the chalk from the foam... bastards!!

Ask the local hip-hop community if they know him and give him the attention he is obviously after ;)

Some bell-end tagged our trailer while it was outside a venue, it made me very annoyed, absolute thoughtlessness. The marker never came off fully despite trying to remove it with all sorts of chemicals and cleaners.

If you've never been victim to this kind of vandalism it's a horrible gutting feeling, so flippin unnecessary!

That would really piss me off. I think Technochef has the right idea. Ask around the local scater/ hip-hop guys and find out who RELA is then go to his house and tag it with "F*CK OFF" using Warnex or similar.

Then post pics on here!

id class that as damage to equipment liable to repair costs to the promotor for not providing adequate/any form of stage security. Surely FOH should have been behind barriers, and especially the stage wedges only accessed by the artists/crew which should be an obvious one.

It is pure crap, and must have been obvious to anyone on stage considering how much kit they got around!

with that white crap on the martins and other bits the only thing i can sugest is a pressure washer obv remove all electronics but aslong as they are ply and you dry them fast it should be ok  any chemical will remove the cab paint aswell and with the grills if you put them in the freezer it should chip right of all untested methods on speakers but may be worth a go if you run out of ideas the the freezer thing genuinly does work tho my gf used my good screwdrivers to ster paint with Angry and i done that it came right of

well gutted for all of you that have had this done tagging is stupid and unnessesery the worst thing that ever happend to me was my tms 4s got filled up with cubbish once plastic beer cups crisp packets burst ballons even found a car air freshener in there and that was bad enough

Mans would never dream of tagging speakers at a reggae do, if they value their lives.
If anyone done that do my speakers Id apply an old school custom-
make them stand inna very large wok and fill it up with quick drying concrete(so they'd be like subbeteo figures) and take them  for a boat ride!!!!!! They'd be sleeping with the fishes!!!!!!!

My lockup got tagged up recently, looks rubbish. I'm considering stencilling "WASTEMEN TAG SHUTTERS" in big letters across the shutters, that'll confuse them. Unless they can't read. Or if they can, it might just get my lockup set on fire.
All in all I wish me and my length of steel pipe had been there when they did it. Turkish shopkeeper style. I'd need a FLIPPING big dog to win in a dog-off round here, I can tell you.

had my w8c grilles tagged on a couple of occasions, tried all sorts of solvents/graffiti removal spray, no luck. they're powder coated in grey so in the end i took one to a&m panels and paints on lea bridge road, the guy there spent about 30 mins trying to colour match which was made the more difficult by the perforated dot pattern, eventually he cam e out with an exact match. big can of custom paint £10 he wrote down the ral colour too so if it happens again...

little twats with no respect. the same type as are making headlines just now.

We have hire van absolutly hammered at parties where we have used them to divide up warehouses into arenas, paint and multiple pen tags, many ladies with flaps . we never do it anymore and keep it tucked right behind the rig.

White spirits and scrub then a quick coat of tuffcab you'll be good as new. F**king annoying though..

I had a one of these idiots tag the some carpeted cabs also tagge the club.. when congo natty was playing in town... gold paint pen... When leaving the venue i noticed he'd also managed to tag a completely unrelated coach thinking it was a tour bus with some thing related to the artist... not good at all.. Found out who it was by asking some of the other older heads who are in the graff scene was some skinny 17 year old kid. Next question was what did i want to do? so far nothing. But maybe i'll think of a punishment fit for the crime... Maybe its a case of the ultimatum do you want me to go to the police or are you gonna ____ (fill in the blank).

Not one for graff bashing but when I did St Pauls a couple of years ago some idiot stickered my number plate and another stickered over my tax disk. So I come 150 miles put on a party for free and the thanks I get is getting pulled by the 5 0 at midnight after a carnival. Nice.
