wasnt sure what tops they were mate, they just come stadard with the intimidation aka 215s, but they wernt much cop as the tops blew after been used around 6 times, anyways i bought these off ebay.
used these 3 times then sold em on as they were rediculasly heavy
ill upload some more pics later when i get home as after this i started buying some lighting and some half decent box's.... all off here

After i realised these were too heavy and i also needed more kick for my music i bought 4 hd 15s of maxwell on here, they were very dinted and tatty so neded a bit of tlc, and so did the mids i bought off soundsystemdan, also off here...
also made some boxs for the horns and comps i bought, again off here
heres a pic of a small bassline event i did with the 2 reflex, 2 hds & some cheap peavy mid tops

Looking GOOD! Personally, I'd stack the Blue HDs, spalyed side-ways...with the black ones (also side-ways), on top, beneath Dan's old Omni-Tops (nice refurb on them by the way).. That'd look tidy as fook, and give you (ever so slightly), better dispersion in my experience. :)

so there 3 high?
would that sound better?
i havnt really tried different variations as yet, this was just a quick rig up and a play i had at home..
I didnt think it would make much difference to wich way the hds were stacked as long as all the mooths were togeva..
Any one else add any input to this?

haha, Plymouth union have mountains of those oldstyle par 56/36/birdies, some still installed in the stage room, and many more sat in the cupboard with blown lamps!!
think we skipped a good 30 last year which were dented ect to free up the storage

One problem you may come across is that the tops are a little high, so a bit of 1x1" wooden baton at the back of your tops, to angle them forward will be needed. If you do this, you'll notice better projection of the tops, further back because of the height...but because of the tilt forward, they'll still cover in front of the speaker stacks. If you do this: BE CAREFUL and make sure the tops are strapped down tight and safe!!
nuclearbass wrote:

|
See above. As well as the extra height to your tops, you'll still be getting the coupling with the floor, and a bit of extra dispersion. When we had access to a pile of HDs (x12), we ran them this way occassionally...and found it better then the way you'd stacked them, which seemed to just result in a very narrow, forward firing ''power alley'' of bass. Depends on what you want, I guess...
Good luck

gloss roller mate the sponge type, gave them 2 thinish coats, then last one put on very thick and rolered very slowly and very light handed, line in the bottom picture is a scratch in the wood, i cnt really see any lines ive left, but it is a pain in the arse to get it to go on without showing where the roller ends, the lighter handed you are the better chance youve got of not getting the lines

Make your own "pallet" that's exactly the same size as your cabs, painted black. It'll look smart, keep the cabs out of the beer/spew/muck and also make it easy to loop the straps under.
Regular pallets make it look a bit... pikey!

nice setup, i quite like the sound of HD15's in a pile doing oneway bass, never heard them sound right when used just as a kick bin. What freq range were they doing?
Interesting looking house install, pretty sure the peavys arnt designed to be flown (upside down with the grill reversed?)

all good at the minute, im probably not using it to its full potential as ive just started to play with the eqs and limiters, but for non of a better word its "idiot proof" real easy to use, easy to navigate round etc etc i had the dcx before and i deffinatley prefer this, the softwere is alot better to use than the dcx.
Cant really compare it to anything else as ive only ever had the dcx. But im well happy with it, and with tony been on here answering any questions you cant ask for better after service
hopefully buy the summer, the kam will be replaced with an xt2000 and the pam with a xt1000
