15" celestion drivers. been a long time since i tried to find out what these are but i seem to remember i was missing crucial cone numbers as these are reconed.
hoping these would be good(the best!) for a scoop design, they were previously mounted in a heavily ported instrument cab(apparently made of weetabix:)  so fingers crossed. no idea of the power handling or anything else, could provide measurements if need be.
Forgive my terminology but:
Rear view of magnet and basket(?)

and some numbers..

i've put all the numbers into google in many different formats but got nothing definite back. same images on the way to celestion now.

I'm looking for the cutout size(hopefully able to get tricky with router and make a hole that will suit both these and pd158s in case these are whack) and also your highly valued opinions once the specs come up.

utter noob question warning! but will the thiele small values have changed due to reconing?

Many thanks!

Celestion Powercel 250's.

Date from around the late 1970's.

"will the thiele small values have changed due to reconing?" Yes.

They should have a lightweight paper cone and silver "chrome" dustcap.

Rated at 250w.

saw it and thought, celestion powercel, scrolled down only to find that ian had allready given the answer.
Got two of them laying on the shelf here, really good speaker for small bass guitar cabs. They don't go very high unlike the relatively light cone and aluminium dome would suggest.

Edit; although mine are 12'' and have a straight cone instead of yours.

Thanks ian, quick off the mark there! these sound useless for what i had hoped to use them in...(microscoops). i've asked in the noob forum if these would be suitable for kick duty and if they would stand up to the drivers of today. would be interested if anyone has any opinions on this.

haven't been able to find response or cutout size for these speakers so if anyone has them loaded in anything could you whack out the steel rule and measure the cutout. have these mounted in an amateur bass cab( weetabix build quality) but they are front mounted and i need the rear mounted cutout.(for hd15s).

also i see from the vintage rigporn thread that the seal/surround was important to the response of these drivers. having a pleated surround, therefore being quite a 'stiff' cone (low x-max?) and good for mids?

Many thanks for your replies, good to know what i've got finally!
