right, here is my daily build plan, started friday 5th august, to be ready for the 12th august (adambomb linkup).
Friday
spent most the day with my GF, so didnt really get much speaker stuff done. managed to cutout the outer box parts and some inners.
the first lot
pile of plans and calculations
my garden workshop... crap i know!
speaker building fuel! keg of local ale!!
size referance - 12"+1" monitors
Saturday
started off well, getting up at 9am (unlike usual 1pm). started up the router first thing to wake up the neighbours barking dog and piss the whole road off! i love GB!
rear panel 1
the second one being done so its identical
added the bottom castors, and stuck together bottom, side and rear, then put in bottom horn bit over the castors knuts
the baffle ready to chop
baffle chopped, t-knuted and glued n screwed in, driver in background .... ummm PHAT!
the pair packed away for the day ... off to GF's again
more to follow!

I love the sight of cabs under construction, really makes me want to do some more building.
How many 186's will this make in total?

well, im only building a my first pair atm, but the plan is another pair asap, which will make a nice balance with my tops, then when ive sorted out the outboard and amps better, ill build another 4, and another top. thinking 4 a side should sound phat ... specially with the planned inf8 a side

Sunday!
well, had a late start due to lots of sleep, but had a solid days building combined with 9 pints ... just right i think!
started by adding baffle braces
filed access plate edges square then put in battons for the cover. tight fit for the driver tho
started inserting the inner parts
one curve done
the pair at the end of sunday ... started getting dark!
now working 8-4pm mon-friday this coming week packing advent calenders with chocolates so shall have to come home then build every night! will still finish by friday tho!!

Looks like nice solid work m8, congrats. You get respect for 9 pints and still being able to make accurate cuts too! The rest of the build should be downhill from that point on.

sweet, i thought about the same thing before but with a sound active unit with it so every time a good kick would hit, it would glow. Very nice!

You've gotta do the gig m8, not only does corporate stuff pay silly
money because its not coming out of their pocket but it will be worth
it to see the look on the supermarket monkeys face.
Play bass heavy music all night and turn it up when you get asked to
turn it down. All the young'uns will love it. Get your cash up front
too.
(PS. I *hate* most supermarket managers )

Saturday night linkup with Adambomb!
finishing adams X1's ... cheeky bugger got me to solder all 8 speakons!
amprack - T-amp running two X1's a side
- Audiohead Ah4000 running the 186's
- Behringer ep2400 bridged, one per mid
- 3rd generation running stereo comp drivers
- Alto macro 2400 running one pair 12" wedges
- carlbro sitting there looking sh*t doing nout
- berry system controller
- crest amp running 15" JBL wedges (not pic'ed)
FOH with hedgemonkey soundcheck ... the huge rack on stage with Cubase SX computer, effects and synths!
left stack
main mixing desk, with graphics on FOH and monitors, comp for vocals and mixer power supply
party in swing, with the lasers too!
DJ with his decks, and power distro in background (32amp -> 4 x 16amp sockets on rcd's)
decks into the DI box
power cable and main in plug (3phase wired only to 1 phase). Thats a large screwdriver for size comparison!
Overall, the system was lush! many compliments from people in the PA life. The X1's bass is silly, was lost slightly being outside but should be phat inside. The 186's kicked hard and very loud. can't wait to have my planned 8! midops were nice and clear yet deafening because of the lovely headroom on the amps. all in all, a beauty of a system - if you want to hear it this weekend (19th-20th) it will be at buckland dinham beer festival http://www.bucklandbeerfestival.co.uk - webby here . Come say hello, me and Adambomb will be around!!

Cheers for the Pics mate.... few questions,
Is that the T-Amp Proline 3000 running the 4 X1's? How did it cope? been 'umming and aaring' over one of these for about 3 months !!!
How was the AH4000? D'ya think it could be relied on to drive 2 subs (4ohm) per side all Night ?
Behminger EP2500: What was the quality like?
Cheers..

Yo.
It's my Proline 3000 running the X1s... and to be honest... I dunno... They only days we had it all setup Ginger did all the setting up while I was out and about doing other things...
While the whole system was running they sounded fine, but I think they could have taken a bit more power, but I don't think the volume levels had been set as high as they could have been (amp gain only half way, no clip lights atall whatsover)... I think this was ginger being cautious with my gear (which I'm very grateful of!!).
I will be testing at some point with all 4 hooked up on there own, so I can find out just how much they can be pushed with this amp.
They should be getting about 750Wrms Each (proline 3000 is 1500Wrms @ 4 ohms)... and as our X1s are loaded with C18-650ELs.. this should be ok (would of course be nice to have a bit more, I have 2 prolines now so we shall see, the new one is really intended for 4 HD15s).
Gingers AH4000... (arn't they they same circuit design as the berrys? Might have better cooling or summit??).
Berry (behminger Very funny btw) EP2500s.. are also mine (got 2 brand new boxed for £280!)...
Build quality, it's ok, had to pop the lid on one to remove the screw that holds the binding post cover on from the factory... so the fact that I had to do this doesn't really ring of high quality...
Had a good look inside, seams fairly well built and screwed together on a whole... they sound ok (to me) and they presumably put out the stated power... you pays yer money.

ive used the audiohead for 4ohm sub duties in the pasdt, and it will run close to clipping all night long, doesnt get hot either! considering i got it on a sale price, i cannot complain about quality! absolutely fine for my needs.
The proline im sure has much to give, at the party i was keeping it down as the 4 X1's were pumping enough for the rest of the sound to stay balanced, and they had no wadding so sounded crap when pushed!
im sure the proline sounds better than the audiohead overall. better build and better quality.

Have managed to wad one of the X1s and test now... (only in the rear chamber as read on here somewhere they have more output without the wadding int he front chamber) much smoother.
STILL waiting for PAP to send me all the nuts / bolts I paid for over 2 months ago... grrr!

OH YEA... also found that for the whole party and buckland atleast one of our X1s was running with about 3 bolts hlaf holding the driver in.. not even done up tight! GRRRREAT!! (which is why one of em was sounding a bit sick!)
Thankfully it seams no harm was done... but still... whover did the back plates up while I was getting the bands.. needs a kickin!
