Anyone else doing this with Winamp or similiar ?

Any benefits doing this, as opposed to '7x64 ?

Will it support additional USB/PCMCIA additional sound card ?

Thinking about buying yet another old DELL 630 laptop (C2D with 64bit support/DDR3), purely for Linux/SOLARIS.

I've not had a problem using a usb sound card with a recent Linux distro (Ubuntu 11.x LTS in particular). Have used "mixxx" to do some rudimentary djing several times in the past without problems.
Tbh I would favour it if on low budget seeing as REW is available in linux form now. If it turns out the DCX remote prog works under Wine then all the better!

I only use Win7 to run Solidworks atm.
