Just throwing this one out looking for some advice...

I have 2 of the Trantec S4.4 hand held wireless mic systems that are on channel 70 IIRC...

I'm not a fan of the hand held mics, I feel that they suffer from a lot of handling noise and are very "bright" sounding. Is it possible to use the existing receiver units with a better quality of hand held mic?

The S4.4 has no grip tone so providing the mic is transmitting on the same frequency it should work

The senny freeport is compatible, as it is identical, totally identical. Only difference is packaging outer and the brand name on the instructions.

That's what I thought. I've been handed a Freeport system before and it just looks rebadged.... Same mic and capsule from what I could see. If I could get the mics from the EW range to work with the existing receivers, that would be a step up....
