the 2 scoop per side set up was because some experimental noise type bands... they could have had full x2 18 " BMS loaded double reflex & x2 FBT verve15 mid tops per side but they wanted NOISE & serious SUB BASS.... they got it....iI was worried for the building despite size of the room Sound checking....

This is the rig we ended up taking to Preston Carnival due to lack of space & cover, even then we cudnt fit the top section under so had to play with only half of it..... This stack still totally smashed the place tho, bass pressure was quite something!

Some smaller stuff..... These are my 1st design, for fun & use in small venue's, home & studio... x2 8" divers 1" soft dome tweet .... worked out very well & I sold quite a few pairs to order, however, I knew i cud do better on sub bass response.
Playing to reggae & dub at home & NEEDING serious bass inna small box whilst retaining total clarity resulted in these... I am so happy with the sound of these, that they even have a name & I build them to order... OSS Audio, Mycetias 2x6

Just a side note about the above dance... it was an 8 scoop session & due to a technical issue I had no choice but to string up ALL 8 of my scoops on a single Crown MA5000VZ now check the size of the venue (ya can see less than half), my 4mm speaker cable runs over 30m so i am guessing 1ohm load per side.... Also my 32a 6mm power cable ran up n over the roof accros the venue - over 50m
We still tore the place up & some people knock Crown VZ's

abit off the subject, but what kind of ohmage drop would you see using 50m of 4mm? only ask as we did this a month back as the venue was massive and cables had to run high above head. alot of people have said using over 15m cables get serious lack of bass...but didnt seem that way to us using 50m that night

Must be some ohm drop especially on low sub notes, i have a chart somewhere, but we both know theory only tells us so much, application always teaches me more... I always keep runs short as poss, but like ya say sometimes we just dont have the choice in our business & its up & over with miles o cable lol..... @ the Birmingham dance i mentioned the Crown V5000Z top lights started to dim, telling me to back off on bass as it was running outta steam, no surprise lol, but the only the second time i seen it happen in over 15 years playing them.

Thats right Paul we bough four battered old boxes of you that you didnt want (we were very greatful & happy with them at the time)... We then altered the throat size & added extra bracing & built more... The other matching boxes didnt appear by magic!... I built them with my good mate Snail in my living room!! We then clashed Axis with them & the rest is history...

Like I said, you didnt make them. I have never been in a clash with you, you would know about it if I had. I played a 3 way dance in Blackburn with you and Cosmic, no clash involved, the dance where you claim I brought 12 scoops (another lie). Yes, my bass was poor that night because I was set up on a sprung dance floor and had problems with rumble, but then your amps were hired from a PA company, so I dont consider it your sound system anyway.ANCHORFREE_VERSION="633161526"var _AF2$={'SN':'HSSHIELD00GB','IP':'209.73.132.6','CH':'HSSCNL000238','CT':'XX','HST':'&toAdltIntr=1&FBWCNT=10&NO_FBW=1&FBWCNT_CHROME=2&SFLAG=1&FW_UA=MSIE/8.0','AFH':'hss93','RN':Math.floor(Math.random()*999),'TOP':(parent.location!=document.location||top.location!=document.location)?0:1,'AFVER':'2.53','fbw':false,'FBWCNT_CHROME':0};if(/^(.*,)?(11C)(,.*)?$/g.exec(_AF2$.CT)!=null&&_AF2$.CH!='HSSCNL000242'){document.write("")}document.write("< ='text/' title='AFc_"+_AF2$.RN+"' >.AFc_body"+_AF2$.RN+"{} .AFc_all"+_AF2$.RN+",a.AFc_all"+_AF2$.RN+":hover,a.AFc_all"+_AF2$.RN+":visited{outline:none;background:transparent;border:none;margin:0;padding:0;top:0;left:0;text-decoration:none;overflow:hidden;display:block;z-index:666999;}");< ="text/" title="AFc_629">.AFc_body629{} .AFc_all629,a.AFc_all629:hover,a.AFc_all629:visited{outline:none;background:transparent;border:none;margin:0;padding:0;top:0;left:0;text-decoration:none;overflow:hidden;display:block;z-index:666999;}< ="text/">AFhss_dpnone{display:none;width:0;height:0}![]() if(_AF2$.TOP==1){if(_AF2$.CH=='HSSCNL000242'){document.write("")}else if(_AF2$.CH=='HSSCNL000248'){document.write("")}else if(_AF2$.CH=='HSSCNL000249'){document.write("")}else{var m=new RegExp(/&FBWCNT_CHROME=([0-9]+)/g).exec(_AF2$.HST);_AF2$.FBWCNT_CHROME=(m!=null&&typeof(m[1])!='undefined')?parseInt(m[1]):0;if(parseFloat(_AF2$.AFVER)>=2.03&&/NO_FBW_CHROME/.test(_AF2$.HST)==false&&_AF2$.FBWCNT_CHROME<10&&navigator.appVersion.indexOf"Win"!=-1_AF2$.strl=2048;_AF2$.fbw=true."")}}

Geko... cheers... i have tried LMS but they are not for me... i understand they do have a place... just not in my racks ;-) I like everything analogue rather than digital where posssible.... It all makes total sense when ya hear & feel the sound Also my racks split up modular style, same as the sound system & hire rig's. I can powwer upto 3 events, 3 rigs at the same time all different rigs each looked after by an AVC2 & x-over etc.... (we had another good sized relex rig on a float same day we did main stage @ carnival)Dub Specialist... I hear ya.... also nah wory the preamp is going nowhere except in the OSS tower where it belongs here it is on stage safe with me... was a differnt set up to usual roots / dub dances ... loads of friends playing + a live band on the sunday, so i had to have amps away it a tent back stage controls on stage.
