If you have 2 bins in series that are then paralleled with 1 bin, you have a load of 5.33Ω... however, you've got the power issue to contend with then.

That is presuming that the bins are 8Ω.

not to mention that some of the amp's power will be split over the two series bins whilst the one in parallel will be trying to cope with the all the rest by itself!

never mind the fact 2 of the drivers will recive more power than the third

the single bin will have half the resistance of the two series bin so it will be stuck with most of the amp power. Not a good idea. Either only use two bins or get another to make four. Then wire them in series/parallel.

so with the right amp choice with a little headroom it is a possibility or am i just going to blow a driver/amp, trying to build this system on a budget as i had to sell my last rig for financial reasons.

hmm no easy solution i think the choices are
drop 2 of the hd's to run two aside
get another 2hd's
get an amp that will run 2ohm stable
or get a second amp to run 3 pairs

could run 2 banks of 3 in series 24ohm/2=12ohm and bridge the amp then your running 6 ohms a channel?

Thankyou Timebomb sounds perfect can't find the specs to the xp5k now so not sure what it would be putting out at 12 ohms?

See what you mean its not the easyest amp to find specs for...id guess as its called a 5k thats not rated below 4 ohms per channel then its about 2500W per channel at 4ohms, wich is 5000W at 8 ohms bridge (if it does bridge)so say about 3000W at 16ohms bridge and 4000W at 12 ohms bridge which into 6 drivers is 666W each.

Thanks for the advice

I would seriously suggest changing the amp. Or send the amp back to matrix for a 2r update thingy.

All this messing about sounds like a Carnival float...

Just what I was thinking. there's always the thing if the amp goes pear shaped you lose use of all the cabs too, (not good in a room full of punters) better in the long run to do it right the first time.
Either buy two amps or better still buy two amps and another pair of cabs and be safe.
