I have a unique hazer here in front of me that someone asked me to look at.

The thermal trip under the heater was out and when i reset it the heater after less than a minute

started to glow red hot. i cut the power straight away,i wasn't taking the chance of the trip doing it's job again.Anyone with insight to what is gone wrong.

unique 1 or 2? I have a Ver 1 that had a similar problem, there is a temp sensor that is attached to the heater block by a thin wire. It goes back to an orange? push fit connector on the main PCB. If this has gone faulty, the temp will over run. Can't remember the price but you can get them from AC lighting. Just make sure when you take out the faulty unit, you note carefully which way around the wires go. There may also be damage to the heater itself (meter it out), again AC can supply this.

blah blah blah blah blah......

It's a unique 2, the heater was already changed on it, so that thermocouple cable looked a bit suspect.Whats the best way to test it.

It's scary looking at the heater getting red hot
