I attended this year edition it sounded the same and  great everywhere in the stadium. This setup is done to deal with the noise outside the venue focusing the sound on the floor.

Santa should buy them some Void Primes and be done with it, a ground stacked Prime system is going to work a lot better than tonnes of arrays flown all over the place.

Glastonbury 2011 was too quiet.... second stage... chemical brothers... half way through the crowd and it was so quiet... it was like sitting in my lounge...NO DELAY arrays... and the crowd was hardly skimping on numbers...

Surely a ground stack at the front isn't going to have anywhere near the coverage that all that has???

If you get the tops high enough it will work, maybe a little side fill or infill but yes it would work. Me and the elves did a big techcore rave about 27 weeks ago now and covered 1000 ravers with our ground stacked party system.

There's probably about 40,000 people in this pics. Bit of a difference between that and covering 1000 people...

Ok Santa would agree but all you do add to the system, we took 24 subs & 12 tops so i guess 936 sub and 468 tops would do it.

So who fancy's a Norfolk link up of Void kit ?

Glastonburys Noise situation is just getting out of hand!

Trust me that D&B J series Skan put on the other stage would have smashed that field to bits.

Are you local to the festival? Fancy a beer this year?

Nice. Arrays are awsome. Are those subs that are flown aswell in first couple of pics...

What's the advantage of flying subs?

Easier aligment with the main arrays. Ground stacked subs can never be aligned perfectly to mains for the whole audience area.

Somewhere to hang me headfones. This was monitor world! Slightly close to the back of the stacks.....Glow stick was for fun!

NCA is usually input to 2 of the four RGW boxes and link to the other two. They have rotating pins so 1+/1- goes out the link as 2 + / 2 - to the next box so as to use all four lines in an NL4 evenly. Can`t remember exactly how we wired that one !

.p.

edit...I remember now after a b`fast cup of tea! There was only 1 x amp for the all the RGW`s so we ran 4 a side off an FFa 10k. That`s why there`s one NL4 hanging down loose, all the others are linked off box 3.

That horisontal cable isn't carrying the weight, those (near)vertical tethers are.

Definitely not bad! Em Acoustics latest Halo Compact Line array. The fact that only that is needed to fill the Royal Albert Hall is very very impressive indeed.  i heard it very quietly at the stage electrics exhibition in Cardiff recently and the clarity was second to none! That was just with a Cd though, still havent heard it live yet.

Haha, that certainly is Halo Compact. Covered the best part of 5,000 people in the Albert Hall with that rig (obviously with the aid of a little bit of front fill!), the level was averaging about 110db at FOH apparently with much more in the tank, but being a classical gig they're not gonna run it too loud.

The engineer at the RAH said it was the best sounding system they've ever had at the hall.
