Now I've heard both systems, I can confirm this will not be a one way clash!! Respect to both systems for injecting some excitement in our roots scene. I've heard some soundclash hype in my time Gee, but "infidels"? and "imposters of H.I.M. teachings"? Really? You just want to find out who has the heaviest sound in the North, not cleanse the world of evil doers (although I'll support you in that if you decide to switch focus). I have enjoyed both Operation and Goverment before, and played with both, and I wouldn't call anyone involved here "infidel" or "imposters of H.I.M. teachings".
I am planning to come to this, but i don't think trash talk like this helps the cause. Let the music and the sound systems do the talking and then we'll see.

This will be a clash to remember I think fellas, some of us will not be happy but the silent majority maybe well looking forward to this, I am & many others, we need some sessions like this to inject some excitement in our roots movement, there are too many who is not committed to our movement but has great influence over it!!! gavin why are you makin reference to speaker boxes and amps? what has that got to do with anything? do you see what we do to help others? do you know the active roles we have in helping to change this system thats pulling us all down? do you know the work we do for the community? do you know what we do for charities? did you know generals mum's a pastor, did you know my nan has been running bible studies since i can remember? you want to kill sounds for your own ego fullstop. the simple fact you wine non stop about other sounds boxes, speakers amps shows how u focus your energy on everyone else and not on what youre doing. everyone else seems happy doing what theyre doing. you seem very bitter about every other sound. i cannot see how your mentality will help others. hopefully one day you will prove me wrong. this hopefully will be my last post about this but clearly you have issues so we will talk more when we see eachother.

+100 to the above!! Bredrins lets keep the clash vibes on a sound system and musical level. Nothing wrong with adding some spice to the Sound system world. Even on the roots scene, but please lets keep it clean. Sound killing talk don't mean if a sound get killed (musically) in one dance don't mean they won't come back and defend it another day. I've seen Jaro and Black Kat kill each other on several occasions and the loser come back with vengeance another time. and even tho Trooper and Panther would cuss each other on the mic when the dance is finished they laugh and joke and sometimes even leave the dance in the same vehicle. Its all about entertaining and giving the punters a good show. The only thing we hope wont get in the roots sound clash arena is the personal attacks and cussing on the mic. like we have in the dancehall sound clash arena, but by all means..... deal wid a sound boy musically and mek the sound system and tunes do the killing. Defo have to make this dance. need to come do some scouting Gee

If I go back to page 1 of the Heaviest sound in London thread, seems like it was you who sowed the seeds of this clash. Describing Goverment as the heaviest sound system in the whole of the north was pretty provocative. All Operation and Goverment have done is react to your comments.
I don't see that Operation needs to say anything until the 18th May.

I believe it to be normally four subs (scoop or reflex like G's), this seems to be the standard 'section' in roots/reggae sounds ------------- Stone Lion Sound System, The Garden City Rockers. It's all about the music & the vibe. |

Did both sounds die? as no one switched off till the end? (only come to see someone switch off)

Im not going to comment on who came out 'on top' as presentation/sound/music is not really my cup of tea. But one thing I would say with confidence is, that neither of two sound systems are 'the heaviest' in the North, neither the clearest or comfortable to listen to either. ------------- Reggae music inna velvet earthquake style. |

What audio recorder do you use? You need to check your settings because one channel is out of phase with the other and it's cancelling out the bass Because I'm kind, I've fixed it and I'm uploading it now |

Great session, both crews delivered IMO The Systems Operation running traditional 4 or 5 way set up, looks like 2" horns, high mids, low mids, kicks & turbomax scoops, this set sounded balance, could have done with alittle more tops, nice clean mids & a solid bottom end up close, but move 10mts away the bass just faded, mic section ok but could have been louder. Great tunes was played had the people dancing & nice vibes from that crew. Goverment running 2way reflex,15" mid/top, loud @ times but when tuned, was very clean, mic section loud & clear, their double 18" reflex dropping very low & deep, not as heavy in front of stack, but move 10mts away & WOW, music policy seems more like roots dubplates clash style, some very good sections was played from that crew. Overall for me the heaviest sound was Goverment, even Operation got upset @ one stage saying that they are only using x4 bass on a 13amp supply, Goverment replied by saying, stop lying to the people lets put on lights & count bass boxes Lol.... (both had six bass cabs) Great session, well worth my 420 mile round trip.... |

Operation bass low, but without definition. Goverment had more definition, control and firmness, but lacking on the low low. A combination of the 2 would have been better. Both sounds had good bits and bad bits. At the end of the day, its horses for courses, it depends on what you like in a bass. To me, there was a lack of warmth and comfort, Im not keen on the CD sound either, when Operation played a few vinyl, it sounded better to me. ------------- Reggae music inna velvet earthquake style. |

fully agree wit SupaPower hahaha check kilowatts first vid at start...... insulting the crowd.... me i believe! Operation smashed it.... pure vibes and controlled. proper roots, dub and steppers. had everyone dancing  was great to see same Operation stack out in preston next day.... smiles everywhere Big shout out to bar staff! soundclash should have a winner.?.... thought it was Judgement day  |
