Ok, this is the rcf 1018 bass bin. It's not 106db 1w/1m (anyway that was for the l18s800) that high db was a typo on rcf's part (i bought them partly because i didnt know any better and saw 106db and thought WoW) The rear part of the vent up the back is slightly narrower, thus somehow becoming a "hybrid" it was all marketing nonsense in my eyes. All i know is that with the proper (s800) driver it was a hard sounding bin and f3 of 38 was really pushing it a bit. I should think it would be good for techno and house as they appear to be based around the pop kick 63hz bass, block em up in 4's all ports together and have fun. Oh btw they do beat alot tony's ASS boxes except the scoops (a more deep fat bass) but are nearly half the size of those old cinema speakers. I have no idea about the driver you are using in them, i hope they are what you wish for as a bass bin.

Yes. I know A LOT of PA hire firms getting rid of these due to Plenty of Booming SPL, but not much lower than 63hz.

Maybe a PD186, 18PZB46, L18P300 could deepenize it.

I just think the right driver in the right box is the best way, the 1018 is a budget box anyway were about a grand a pair iirc.

Yeah, but the right driver doesn't sound all that in the box; Box is already built, so have to make the best of a bad situation.

Authentic Martin WSX shipped with a 600W L18P300, put a V18-1000 in there, and it blows original WSX's away..

Same principal here... Be a shame to waste all that workmanship and ply
on 2x 18 subs that dont play sub.

maybe it would be better to use  the WinISD for this design,
just a question? what would be its port length?  from the plan,do i need to include the length behind the driver? and noticed that they have different area to that of the port under the driver....

not understand sorry

i just know :
the F3 is to 38hz
the big kick is between 63 to 80hz
the SPL continu is 133-134db(1.2kw) and maxi is up to 136db/1m(2kw)

the sound is very good for techno and reaggae dub electro...

Currently, nothing touches scoop for dub music. Folded horn like WSX or SL36 with "right" driver do come close, and are used in JA.

hi dario,
rcf 1088 is no properly a scoop...not a real horn cabs, however it reach 200 hz, so if you have already a mid bass cab like gsub should be better build a fullsize scoop with proper driver IMHO. This if you go for a four way,  but if you go for a 3 way should be nice. However put a midbass on top of this cab IMO is not efficient.
