Hi Guys
So after many years of "should I or shouldn't I" and countless times of being let down by other people I have taken the plunge and got a nice little rig together...

My question is how would you guys go about getting the best sound out of what I have.... It's mainly used for deep house.
This is how I have it set up at the moment but Im sure you guys can get more out of it than I can.....
(nothing is bridged, it all runs in stereo and all cables are balanced)

Here's everything stacked up... its all been repainted with tuff cab since this photo so looks a lot better now...

So there we have it, my setup... any advice on how to get more out of this would be great.
It is normally run from a Allen & Heath xone62 if that is of any help.

Cheers Guys

Look forward to hearing people's suggestions and views.

Ermm.. Ermm

I'm fairly sure others will chime in with some great suggestions, but I would start with using just 2 midtops (L/R) instead of all 6 stacked like that..

Ok ok.. I'll get my coat LOL

nice outboard but i would either keep the jbls and sell the cerwins or sell the jbls and get 2 more cerwins and sell the bottom 2 reflex things.

then sell the outboard stuff you dont need (two lms there ?)

then with that cash buy as many 1850s your four tops will cover. your rack should sort that nicely! if not sell and buy bigger amps for 1850s :)

my 1 pence

There may be a phase issue if you are running the same signal through different Bass Speakers with different starting positions. To be sure of what you have, just plug one cab in and then add the other cabs and just try to determine whether the combined sound gets quieter or louder.

Cheers guys.... thats basically everything I have, I had thrown it all together for one photo rather than having 6 or so photos of all my speakers.... I use the cerwins separately as monitors or at least thats was the plan... im fairly new to all the tech talk so can some explain to me what is meant by "outboard" as it has been mentioned a few times in various posts and I have no idea what that means and also "ims".
So i guess its another couple of 1850's and match up another pair of the JBL 350's...
The amps I have are good enough for this or should I get a larger 4 channel amp to run all the 1850's?

Prob get rid of the cerwin vegas and reflex subs

Short term get a kick cab to go between. Your 1850's and jbl's

Then get 2 more 1850's

I would bet that those JBLs and the 1850s meet each other just fine without extra kicks.  Maybe long term get some kicks, but for now get to at least 4 1850s.

ok so I will hunt down another 2 1850's then, what would be a good starting point regarding kick cabs? How many would I need and what size/power etc? Im also looking for another pair of the JBL 350's if anyone knows of any hiding away.

To be honest, kick cabs aren't really well suited between the 1850s and 350s.

Short term: Make as big a pile of 1850s and 350s as possible. Sell everything else!

Long term: Sell the 350s, and get a dedicated MH (mid-high) section and kicks.

if this is going out before any upgrades happen it might be worth trying the 1850's (on their sides to align the horn mouths) with the peaveys between them and the 350's as an ill suited kick bin  (not sure how it would work - just thinking about what you have for next weekend!)

had a quick look and can't find much info on the 350's, if they'd keep up with it I'd try them over 6 1850's  - 320's as monitors and the peaves and cerwins sold to help pay for upgrades or running the chill out room

Get more 1850's and what ever you do don't split the 1850's just because it looks nice.

Put them all together on there sides, horns together or better still V plate them in a corner.

Its best not to mix cabs because its near impossible to EQ them properly.

It's not going out until August the 10th when we are doing a charity gig for cancer research (we do one every year in memory of a DJ we used to play alongside who lost his battle with the big C).... various dj's playing deep house and techno.... I hope to have 2 more 1850's by then. The venue is a village pub but it has a huge back garden and a 35ft by 35ft patio terrace....approx 150 ish people (see attached picture of last years set up although I borrowed that Thunder-ridge gear from a pal)
How would you go about placing my rig and in what format to produce the best sound quality? i.e. stack location, stack order and how would you have it all wired up to my various amps?

Ok so a quick update on how things are going....

I have managed to get hold of 2 HD15's, they just need to be loaded, will post up some pics once done.....
I'm now on the hunt for another pair of 1850's and some more HD's.
I'm debating keeping the cerwins and the reflex cabs, you never know when they might be of use!
Things are coming along nicely considering I didnt have a rig at all 12 weeks ago :)
as always cheers for all your help and advice.

I was thinking of this myself... a couple of Cerwins mounted on the stagedeck with top hats sunk in on poles would make very nice monitors!
