Have heard lots of good things about this driver in the past, in different types of boxes.

But the stated Xmax is only 7.8 , the voice coil is < 4in,  fs/qes is <100, and Vas is only 226.

Personally, I guess it would be very efficient in carefully sized reflex, not overdriven, but only ok in a scoop. I place it in my group 3 driver list.

Group1:PD1850, V18-1000
Group2:PD186, Top Level B&C's, Volt, B-line
Group3:FANE XB, L18P300, Top Level Eminence, Decent JBL 18,Beyma

I have seen it for a little less than a PD186, but the Fane XB is much cheaper, is proven in scoops, just cant handle  high power levels in big cabs like PD186, V18 or 1850.

i use fane 18xb's in my scoops at the moment & have a pair of RCF L18P300 lying around spare so i might drop one into a scoop and give it a test. though i think the difference beween the Rcf & fane will only be very small.
