Hi Guys, been reading the forum for years and I need your help now. I've designed a box for the Low Rider 18" at about the spec for the Large box the manual requires (~250 Liters, I've built my box based on the Peavey QW 1 18), my trouble is Bass Box gives me the port at 2" height 19.5" wide, ~7 deep for 36hz, but the port on the Peavey box is about 3.5" height for the same 36hz at roughly the same ~7" deep, is Bass Box correct?

As long as you have fed in the correct information, Bass Box will be fine. I've used it for years, and always got good results, so have never assumed it might be wrong.

Great build! Port looks quite narrow though, any port noise at high levels?

Nope, no noise. Bassbox speced the port at 2" was worried about the noise but none that I heard and thats with 2000rms on them.

We can tell by the careful way you have framed your subject material, the bags of garbage are a nice touch.

Hi guys, here I am again with a problem, I was playing around with WinISD and i plugged the specs for my driver and current box in and it gave me a different port to what Bassbox did (Bassbox said 2" port at 7.9"long), I checked rechecked and every input into both programs are the same, but the WinISD's port looks more like the port the boxes where copied from, I'm at a loss here.

If you've already built them then there's not a lot you can do, apart from perhaps build one to Winisd specs and do a direct comparison. That's if you have the materials to do so of course :)

We built two from normal ply as a quick fill in, so I'll mod one of them and compare.

Modded the box and it made a huuuuge difference, the boxes had a sound before which I thought was the amp maxing out but that sound isnt there any more with the mod and the low end around 50hz is alot more detailed.
