I have a Void Digidrive processing my foh. Last night in the first half of the concert I was doing output 1 stopped sending signal. I bypassed the LSM and plugged straight into the amp, running the PA's passive crossovers. At the break I went down to have a look and it was working perfectly. Anyone had a problem like this before? Is it time for a new LSM?

Mate in the sound game told me, if you can't afford decent LMS, get a Berry, nothing else.

After trying Mk1 Digidrive for first time ever, last week, I see his point.

Yep makes you wonder why the 50 or so SP members that use the dB-Mark of which a lot UPGRADED from the DCX are not constantly on the forum complaining how rubbish they are and bemoaning the fact that they did not spend another £2000 on a better jobby :)

No offence intended there Tony, and didn't say I fully agreed with my mate's philospohy, as I haven't tried all the sub £500 units that he has.

However in the case of the Digidrive Mk1, I was much better off with a DCX.

However seems there are many "turds" in the upto £350 bracket, with DCX being one of the safer gambles.

I've had DCXs for 6x years on and off, always bought unit in decent condition, and not once, ever, had frying eggs "syndrome". Embarrassed

I dont really know if the particular void digidrive is the same series as xilica xp4080 which i use with my system, but xilica is far superior from berry dcx which i used many times in the past.
I ve also heard strange things about digidrive but never had issues with xilica products even in conditions where power was jumping up and down..

tbh there isn't a chance I'd buy a dcx. can't afford to buy gear that I know will cause problems.

I've had no problems ever with DCX,  but have decided to move on anyway.

Problem is, it seems "many" of the used/new LMS in price range upto £400, do not offer the same functionality, size of screen, ease of use as the DCX.

Indeed.  The Digidrive Lev tried last week then sent back was the original Digisynthetic model, also same as the OHM Cred controller and IMO, owning 3 of them myself are actually pretty good for the money.  Incidentally Lev, did you actually do any audio comparisons while you had it?

Not to be confused with the Mk1 Xilica made Digidrive (Silver) which was a rebadged XP3060 from memory and the topic of this thread.

Can't really detail objective differences in audio quality, between the Digidrive Mk1 & DCX, as I was using different music source, to that normally used for testing bits at the unit.

Just got the feeling the Digidrive was cheaply constructed, and couldn't get over the difference in GUI between that & DCX. The way people talk about DCX, really thought it was bottom of the pile in every way. Guess not.

DCX is ok if audio quality is not critical.

Original CRED was a Harman unit. Then the CLEO was a digisynthetic unit and CRED MK2 was Linea Research.

Chris,I had the BBE version and to be honest it did a job, I just found the interface mind boggling and general button feel etc let it down.

Sorry Pasi, got the CRED and CLEO the wrong way round.

The Digisynthetic versions have a user interface identical to the BSS Minidrive and while not the quickest isn't too horrific to navigate once you get into it.
