Hello,

i want to built some 186 horns but i only can get the newer pd.186/2 drivers with different TSP. Is it possible to use these for good results?

when did you get your last 186's if you got them in the last 5 years or so, they are the same as the new ones, the 2 denotes a new chassis, this has no effect on sound..... the specs inherited by pd from the original owners jbl were wrong....

new pd 186 sound nothing like the old one. Dead

Regarding the original question. If you are going to buy drivers for a horn I would look at something else than the new PD186.


Btw. some one must own both old and new PD186s and be able to do a comparison?

thx, i will forward it to precision device ;)

i think i look for another driver.
i liked the pd.186 because it doesn`t need so much amping like other recommended 18" drivers

and the edges on the magnet plates are rounded now on all mk2's..

i`m very interested too, but i think the very different spec`s are not a good sign..
