thanks geoSal Smile

the "triax " looks really impressive IMO.
how about the clear sound prices? their stuff looks "extravagant" , so i wonder if the prices are extravagant aswell Embarrassed

No their prices are pretty competitive in relation to what their products have to offer. These wedges were bought for the venue we work. After having heard all the ''A class'' wedges like d&b,hiQ,etc
and considering their prices plus their amps and dsp that can only work with, i think we made the best choise and planning on buying  another pair.I used these boxes for a 3 day festival in an old camp and they made my life easy.I hardly touched the graphic eq and wasnt even near peak levels on amps even with rock bands during the whole fest.
Only thing is that they need a decent amp and  plenty of headroom to show their full potential.

it still should be very expensive, this BMS triax cost an arm and a leg...
BTW, is this the original crossover in the picture ? looks really poor made and with low end parts...

the low driver is made by the guys who own the company. You can see all their custom drivers in their site made in their factory. The crossover for the bms coax is the one bms gives if i'm not mistaken. The crossover parts are not low end although it is handwired without a circuit board.

What are those white rectangular things held down with ty-raps and hot melt glue?

They make their own drivers but can't etch a PCB?

If they are the pad resistors, then that's extremely bad practice. They can get hot, and will melt nylon ty-raps and hot-melt glue.

You can ask them for prices. They dont have any distributors outside bulgaria but themselves.
It has been a topic about them in the forum before but nobody gave much attention.I remember someone posted some pics from a gig asking what the speakers were about.

So I cant give any prices sorry.Just mail them through their site.www.clearsoundco.org
I think that if they were in London things would be different about them..
Anyway..

surly if you wanted the best from this particular driver, would it not be better buying from the guys who designed it..

I didnt know about the bms coax but the 15 low driver is custom made in Sofia.I've been to their factory and saw it myself.
Also this particular driver from the wedges I posted about is a two inch coax not an 1.4''

is the idea of the big horn in the middle of the co-axial driver that it avoids the LF modulating the HF signal?

got to agree about the crossover - in such a high power speaker that looks like it might catch fire!

Is there any material applied to the outside of that horn to mitigate reflections? If not, isn't that a bit of a problem?
I see it is longer and not as rapidly flared as the BMS triax driver, but still looks like it'll catch waves from the 15 and send them off sideways and backwards to me - thus potentially causing strangeness in the dispersion pattern?

I suppose if the driver was coax and not triax, which means the 15'' had to play up to 1.2khz-1.5khz
to meet the 2'' comp, then yes that could cause some odd results in the mid band. But since the 2''mid does the 500hz-6.3khz job I think it's fine.
There is no special material applied to the horn rather than polyurethane paint with a spray gun.

Didn't BMS start putting a 'sock' over their tri-ax horn even though the low driver wasn't playing up high? Sure I remember Pasi mentioning it.
