Like a scoop LOL

leaves a 18'' scoop for dust.......creates more dust too

PDN2151 is pretty tasty

put some 24'' scoop pics up Bee

its a very quick sounding driver for its size. Think im the only one to do a 24".... never seen any others...

mini scoops are getting bigger hehe.

looks great. i'd say that's a thumper alright. how high can you go with it?

presume it's a potential product and not a potential free plan.

Well a mini 21 has got to be bigger than a mini 18

still 3'' smaller than a 18'' full scoopThumbs Up

Product yes. Possibly flat packs. Not sure yet

An 18 scaled up?

My first guess was super scaled up minus the dog-leg?

chamber size looks good

Posted By: bee
Date Posted: 02 June 2014 at 8:11pm
no was a fresh plan, not based on any design, It follows the basic scoop design, braced to hell, double back baffle bracing, and double bracing on horn. 48mm baffle.... I would call it a small chamber, based on driver size...

The big trouble with a 24" is the band width it plays 20hz to 60hz... is the sweet spot. getting a driver cone that big past 60hz is pointless due to the transient response being way too slow... So its more of an infra scoop, than traditional scoop sound.... This means you need some serious high bass cabs to keep up..

you no me heathrow, I don't clash or build cabs to sound better than others, I build to the best of my design ability at that time, and hopefully others like what I do. If it does not sound great, ill try again... Im playing with a few new ideas at the moment including a new 18 and 21 scoop but nothing to show just yet... So ill keep building the old 18 and 21 designs till then...

It will gain a db or two in the 60hz range and lose a bit low end.

Personally don't see the point of 1 on 1 box test/clash/beard stroking.

They will never be played in a stack of one, & buyer doesn't care how well 1x cab measures, they want to know how stack sounds in a venue

If builder is confident about cab design, should finish 4x cabs, & take them to a soundcheck with a DJ & system, or get established crew to do it.

Thats why i said 2 box :) I think it would be great PR for potential buyers like myself. Alternatively I have some builders who don't mind providing me with x4 scoops to test/promote at a dance, would any of the builders on this thread be prepared to do that with theirs? (Naturally if a driver was blown etc it would be replaced)
